Re: Air Combat Info
The thing to keep in mind is that there is no "Initiative" like there was in Panzer General or Panzer Corp. So Fighter support of bombers, as well as anti tank gun support of armour, does not nullify any attack strength of the opponent. It's basically just a free shot. You'll also notice that a figh...

Re: Erik's campaigns
Additional comments on Erik's Mod v1.2: Midway: All the objectives appear to work correctly, but I was unable to achieve the secondary to sink three carriers so can't be sure about that one. Although it is a fairly big map, the Japanese start very close to Midway. The Air units on Midway were mostly...

Re: Erik's campaigns
Ok, I've played Erik's Mod 1.2 and the Pearl Harbour and Wake scenarios seem to be working correctly. Coral Sea now works as well. Didn't notice any issues during game play, except maybe that the Aussie recon plane never moved once. All secondary objectives worked correctly but it ended in a Draw wi...

Re: Erik's campaigns
Thanks, Erik. Yes, I am using the mod. I Downloaded your update and nuked up to the Coral Sea campaign. Wake Island to Coral. The branching works if that is what you mean). But the Coral Sea scenario still freezes on Turn 1, after deployment. The "AI turn in progress. Thinking...." goes on forever,...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
More on v0.94: Wake, all secondary objectives worked fine but the primary objective to not lose any carriers remained a question mark resulting in a Draw. Still needs number of turns cut in half. Coral Sea, during the setup phase the primary objective is showing as failed, Port Moresby already has a...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
Setting up air patrol is not very functional since you have to add fixed patrol points for the duration of the scenario. So I'm experimenting with 'air destroy' orders and using specific unit type targets to see if the recon would follow ie a carrier. Initially I set the aggression to zero, but I t...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
Took a crack at Pearl with v0.94. Certainly a different experience as I was caught off guard and almost lost a carrier, good fun. :-) AI turn speed was much improved. I'm getting a bug on the first turn. There is no visibility from any of the ships at Pearl Harbor and the first Japanese turn ends wi...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
Still on v0.93, I figured out Pearl Harbor and everything seems to have worked out correctly including all Objectives. It was pretty darn close and perhaps a bit of luck as there were opportunities to sink a crippled BB but the Japanese bombers chose another target instead. I didn't time any turns b...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Finally got around to playing Midway and it was an automatic instant Minor Victory, this was the original version. But I just downloaded v0.93 and #igotnukes to Midway and same result. I'll replay Pearl now to see how the improvements worked out. Update: ...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
I started playing on my regular gaming computer which is pretty old, with Windows 7. It uses the GOG version of OOB and it's the PC I have played all the custom campaigns. It had no technical issues but, yes, turns were really long. So, I started playing on my workstation with Win 10 and using the S...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
Wake: I changed Set up difficulty to Captain. Do the carriers sunk at Pearl Harbor reduce the number of carriers that show up in this scenario? One suggestion is to maybe auto place the San Fransisco. There is no incentive for the player to actually deploy that ship since the objective can be achiev...

Re: US Naval Campaign delta test
Got through the first scenario. There were a few things right off the bat that had me confused, then I figured out it was different preference settings. It was in window mode, had 2 button control and no mouse scroll. I guess some people may play with these settings but I'd never experienced them be...

Re: Force 10 1940
Force 10 1940, new campaign. Link added in first post. Have fun Erik This campaign is based on scenarios from Jason Petho's Sealion LCG for John Tiller's Campaign Series. Hi Erik, I got as far as the second scenario. We are given 3 air CPs and an objective to shoot down a Luftwaffe plane but the pu...

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
I don't want to pester you by any means but, if you have the opportunity and the inclination, I would like to know a bit more about your experience with the mod. Something as simple as stating your most favourite part of the campaing (scene, unit, feature... anything goes! :)) and also your least o...

Re: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75)
Just finished playing through this update, and have to say that it is absolutely terrific!
I really liked all the informative popups for the added flavour, the uniqueness of each scenario and the sometimes extremely challenging predicaments.

Re: Order of Battle: World War II - v8.4.1 Update
Aside from the already mentioned issue with Leader traits no longer being visible, there is another that I find even more frustrating. When upgrading units, the selection automatically defaults to the cheapest unit. I'm pretty sure I remember this not being the case previously and you could hover ov...

Re: Erik's campaigns
Just played the new Maubeuge Scenario in Germany West 1939-40 and it was pretty good. Neither of the Secondary Objectives are working though, Destroy all Allied Air and Armour. The count shows zero units remaining but does not show as complete. You probably have to wait for the scen to end for them...

Re: Erik's campaigns
This is a very timely discussion as I just had my back side handed to me by the Danes in these scenarios. Tried the new Jutland scenario a couple of times but couldn't figure out how to get it done within the time limit. Rolled back and went with the old familiar Zealand scenario, only to find that i...

Re: BrucErik CSD Studio
I finished Normandy v1.9 again as the Canadians. It went very smoothly and there wasn't too much to report on, and all my notes for Bois du Homme and Falaise have already been mentioned in previous post. Juno - Works very well and I even managed to capture the trucks for the first time. The only thi...
