Re: Erik's campaigns

Here are my notes for Germany East 43. Played with an imported core on standard difficulty and scenarios to me are considered balanced if 5 or less turns are remaining before achieving a minor victory. The following scenarios suffered from insufficient starting supply with War Economy, Female Factor...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Bru, not nessecarily. 1) Specializations can add additional CP not reflected in the editor. 2) There are defensive scenarios where you will lose frontier objectives and supply points before the player even has a turn to react. Well, upon some application of my "Rule of Thumb," I find that your numb...

Both true but I'm looking for a general "Rule of Thumb." Yeah Bru, I thi...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Here are my notes from playing through Germany East 41-42 with an imported core on standard difficulty. Most scenarios were tough but balanced. Novgorod - In this scenario I learned during deployment, NOT to place a unit on an exit hex. :) Leningrad - In my first couple attempts at this scenario I c...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Erik, before I start my sleepless nights trying to work through US Corps 44-45, I thought I would pass on something I captured Germany East 1941-42, v2.7 mission ilovlya I never lost the city in the primary objective, but did not get credit at the end of the scenario. It went the full number of tur...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Almost forgot, isn't the B2-740(f) tank a little overpowered? Not with the defense and attack scores, but it has the ability to move through forest like it was open terrain. It's my favourite unit.

Re: Germany West 1939-40 v1.4

Germany West 1939-40 v1.4 Link updated in first post. Doh! Figures, I just completed a replay of this campaign. :) I made notes while playing and think most of this should still apply. I had played this campaign back in February and found it so difficult that I had to drop the difficulty down to Li...

I lost third scenario but all objectives were fulfilled
That's rather odd. I just completed it with a Major, but it said I had 10 of 8 objectives.

Re: Erik's campaigns

If I can make a suggestion. Perhaps the allotment of CPs for Counter Attack is overly generous and it may be a better challenge to scale it back a bit.

Re: Erik's campaigns

Regarding Road to Moscow. Erik, I'm absolutely loving this campaign and have had no issues on my old PC. Even though these appear to be much larger in map size and unit count than your US Naval campaign, the AI turns have not been much longer than usual. The starting load times are longer, which sho...

Re: Erik's campaigns

I've managed to work my way through to the Rabaul Scenario. Fortunately no other scenario has been as painful as Rainbow so far, as the computer seems to finish it's turn in a few minutes. Just one question about Rabaul. The first 3 transports moved immediately into the port, no problem. However, th...

Re: US Navy Campaign 3.1

US Navy Campaign 3.1 Added new (hypothetical) scenario, Rainbow-5. <snip> Note that several of these scenarios, especially the later ones, are quite large (both map and number of units). I have already removed abut 1/2 of all historical destroyers and light cruisers. The AI will take some time fini...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

In Kota Bharu, is that supposed to be a naval exit point in the lower right corner of the map? My navy was being overwhelmed so I made a dash for that marker but my ships didn't exit the map and were completely annihilated.

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Just got around to playing the updated Task Force Z. It's still one intense scenario, and I really like that Erik made all your forces as core units. Normally I hate losing core units and it is enough for me to do a reload or replay of an entire scenario. But in this case there just isn't any way ar...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

I'll also attach the replay, if interested. Thanks Gabe, I have never seen a replay before, that was very interesting. It was also very illuminating as I was wondering were you got the extra 4 CPs from, so investigating further I just learned that there are specialization points to spend from the b...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

My last attempt at Gin Drinkers failed only because Ma Tau Kok fell to the Japanese on turn 21 and it didn't give me credit for holding for 20 turns. I used delaying actions starting in the Tin Sam and Kau Pa Kang areas with my core units and all the artillery. All other non core units were sacrific...

Bobster, aren't you getting drunk by playing that scenario too often? ;)

Despite the scenario name, I'm usually drinking a Guinness while playing.

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

Went back to Gin Drinkers again, and again, and... This is now officially the one scenario I have replayed the most of any game ever. :-) I swear I previously succeeded holding Shing Mun just to the start of turn 7 but now it seams that it must be till the end of turn 7. Even using 3 units to defend...

Re: Erik's campaigns

In my ongoing quest to play through all of your campaigns, I have been working on Afriaka Korp the past couple of days. I encountered no problems until Dash to the Wire where the Primary Objective to destroy the Fuel Dumps never completed, even though the same Secondary Objective did. The result was...

Re: Forgotten Army beta test

With yesterday's update I see that the map for Gin Drinkers is smaller. That makes sense since the Japanese units on the eastern side of the map never accomplished anything important. However, there are now 2 fox holes in the reserve unit list that can not be placed, these should just be deleted. Mo...
