Re: Future DLC?

Ah, I was very unclear in my wording. I was writing it as a total. So yes, they would get +100 from "knight" and +100 from "lancer" for 200 total. I suspect knights may be better against spearmen than they are in tabletop or fog 1 based on some past comments by the devs, but I have nothing concrete ...

Re: Future DLC?

I'm curious about how knights are going to be implemented. Maybe at impact 200 vs cav and 100 vs all foot? That would let them sweep aside other lancer cavalry and let average knights attack shieldwalls at even odds.

Re: Cataphracts : Rework Needed ?

It seems like this thread is conflating a bunch of issues. Cataphract historicity, spam armies, mf spam armies, hf spam armies. I think the spam armies problem is just a difficult one since this game heavily rewards maneuver with auto drops on flank. Its almost always better to take more troops beca...

Re: Moving through a ZOC

Its because you are also in the secondary zoc of the cavalry unit. You are in two secondary zocs, and the game lets you move "away" from zoc, it has picked the cavalry one as more threatening and will let you move away from it. If the infantry was facing you directly you would be in their primary zo...

Don't warriors chase routed enemies?

Re: Too Easy for Routing Units to "Squeeze" out

I think it's far more likely that routed men would push through friendly formation, running directly away from danger rather than collectively move in the weird paths that might temporarily move move them closer to enemy or even take them behind enemy lines. It would be nice if broken units could o...

Re: SUGGESTION: Changes To Victory Conditions

I like the idea of lowering the % to win if the commander is killed. Right now that seems to have too little effect on the battle. I had an idea for implementing a system where once the battle is "lost" under the current system, instead of the battle ending, two things happen. 1) Every unit gets a -...

Re: Archers too weak

Longbows are in the game files right now if you want to take a look. They are equivalent to regular bows when shooting at up to protected, and better than reg bows when shooting at armored and above. They are outshot by crossbows when targeting heavy armor, but better in all other circumstances.

Re: Favorite Matchups?

The later arab armies have lots of horse archers, though they are still mostly a mixed force. The initial arab conquest army is a horde of superior heavy spearmen.

Re: Favorite Matchups?

I've found the arab conquest armies pretty fun to play against. I recalled Edward Gibbon declaring that the armies of Trajan or Constantine would have sent them back into the desert. Well the army of Constantine got clobbered twice before I was able to win through some careful cavalry maneuvers. The...

Re: Where are the Scara?

If I recall correctly TT Carolingian armies had the option to take a better lancer, they were called retinue or palace troops or something. The upgrade didn't make them elite though, it made them drilled instead of undrilled. Maybe slight upgrade to into highly superior would approximate the same up...

Re: New TT Mod version 1.5.3 AVAILABLE HERE!

No problem, I've just started learning to do some modding with this game and have been doing some of my own tweaks here and there and noticed it. I look forward to the update when it comes.

Re: New TT Mod version 1.5.3 AVAILABLE HERE!

Question about a particular unit's pricing. Celtiberian warbands cost 63 points instead of the 58 points of other warbands. I checked the squads file and didn't see a difference.
