After installing T&S, can't access multiplayer
OK, got T&S downloaded, installed, and activated on my PC. I tried to sign in to multiplayer for the first time since doing that, and got an error message: "the server has been unable to validate your details, please contact the support forums at www.slitherine.com" I haven't changed a...

Re: Can't update Ipad version
OK, found it it in the App Store. You may want to alter the message that you get when first opening the game. It steers you to the wrong place for Ipad users. The message that you get when you open multiplayer steers you to the correct place.

Can't update Ipad version
Having been stymied in my attempt to get Tercio & Salvo running on the PC, I decided to make the attempt on my Ipad. First I tried to update to a new version. I followed the instructions and it took me to the download page, then I hit the button to download the update, and it appears to have dow...

I've downloaded the Roundway Down scenario (no errors), but still can't accept the link for the MP scenario that you posted. Don't know if I did something wrong or the link is a dead relic for some reason...

Dying computer - will need to redownload
Hi,
My computer is dying and is about to be replaced. I have my passcodes saved in my account, but will need new download links for my games. How do I get those?
Thanks,
Matt

Looking for Early Imperial Spanish Allies
Can anyone point me toward them? The Knights of St. John get them, but I can't find them in the book or errata. Did I miss them somewhere, or are they a phantom?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not really the one to ask as I don't drink. There is a BBQ place across the street that serves beer. I can't speak to its quality.richardsd wrote:Is there any good beer to be had in the area?

Re: AM vs R, Table Size, Comp formats, MF, all in 1 post
But in the case of Granicus, given a phalanx of 9.000 and a scale of 1 miniature 60 men, that means 150 miniatures (in fact 192 miniatures for 6 taxeis), thus around 38 stands (48 taking the previous equivalence, a little more than the maximum of the list). Do you do it that way? This is not a crit...

Re: AM vs R, Table Size, Comp formats, MF, all in 1 post
I've fought pharsalus at 500 man per stand and it felt a bit small....ESP for Caesar with only 9 or so bg's if I remember right. The amount of skirmishes in this game means that about 1000-1500 men per bg is right for 4 stand units, and seems to match closer to the mrr legion proportions given. Ale...

Re: Re:
Page 9, Design Philosophy.. Armies of this era all had a common theme, whatever their organisation at the micro level. Each had a commander-in-chief and a few senior commanders who would take control of a wing, or the centre, or a sweeping charge. Subordinate to these was another layer of commander...

Re: Re:
But this "tactical" level stuff in FoGAM theoretically happens at an individual element/base level, and is abstracted by the rules - BG's represent the "Divisions" in the overview synopses you are quoting. That's exactly why the tactical-style maneuvering that "Divisions&qu...

Re: Re:
They would, however, quite rightly ask you for evidence from the period covered by FoG:AM and not the Napoleonic period which is quite different :) They would. And I, in return, would ask for evidence that the tactical mobility displayed by Napoleonic troops was NOT displayed in the FOG:AM era. And...

Especially as the major innovation of Napoleonic tactics was that they allowed troops to be more manoeuvrable than in the preceding period. No, battlefield mobility was not a Napoleonic tactical innovation in the sense that Napoleon (or his contemporaries) first invented it. Increased battlefield m...

Re: Re:
If drilled MF and cavalry are more manoeuvrable in the game than they were in life why not make HF as well? Rather than bring MF back to the sorry state of undrilled HF and allow mounted free rein over the battlefield, allow undrilled HF a bit more manoeuvrabililty - sauce for the goose and all tha...

Re:
Part of the challenge the writers face is that if you don't allow lots of manoeuvres in FoGAM it potentially becomes a less engaging game for players using non-shooting infantry. Both sides will just amble towards each other, become locked in combat and one side will win - there would be very littl...
