Re: 2020 team event call for players

Team Tori it is then! Thanks Gavin

Thanks also to Baldrick52. I think the simplest is to add you to one of the teams. The imbalance innumbers does not really matter.

Deorham scenario - recommended for dark age fans

I recently finished a pair of games with Stockwellpete, the designer, using this dark age scenario. It sees a force of quivering British medium foot (light spear armed) facing off a mass of Saxon warbands. The warbands are mostly average but have superior Generals. As the British player, you have a ...

Re: 2 player campaign format . . .

Pete This is a very nice approach and it looks very well done. Coincidentally, I have just proposed to some of my habitual online opponents something very similar but involving ancient Spanish and Republican Romans. I won't list it here as I don't want to gatecrash your thread but will put it on the...

2020 team event call for players

I would like to launch our third SJ team event in the next few weeks. Our discussions after last year's event led to the following idea, but I am happy to adapt it if people object or have better ideas. Please PM me or reply to this post to confirm that you would like to play. Comments on the scenar...

Re: Relegation of Sengoku and Pike & Shot?

It would be quite sensible for Slitherine to create an easily accessible groups, with BA, BA2, P&S and SJ. These are all high quality games even of they are ageing a little.

Relegation of Sengoku and Pike & Shot?

It looks as if these two games have been taken off the front page of the Forum and relegated to the 'Classic Games' forum. Is there any possibility to reverse this change? There are active groups of players for both of these excellent games, and we organise annual and occasional tournaments. Indeed ...

Yes, the problems are back again. Over the weekend, frequently the turn was sent but after several apparent fails. Now it just fails.

Re: 2019 Team event - bringing it to a close

Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions. I think this 'Event' is a lot of fun so I hope that we can continue next year. So far we have three suggestions - Gempei Kampen - Invasions - Samurai battles All three sound good to me, but let's continue with the friendly games and then decide on...

2019 Team event - bringing it to a close

I see that all the Round 2 games are complete, except for those involving Pixel. I assume that Pixel is having some sort of difficulty in finding time for his games (and there is still one of his Round 1 games outstanding Ithink). However, it is very difficult for his opponents to keep focused on a ...

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two

fikabo (Southern Rebels) defeats Ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) 62:49 Very hard battle for me. Most time I have feeling that I lost it. I have more mens (14k to 10k) but with cost of small number of horses and many raw units. So at beginning I winning with more my units engage in shooting and mele but whe...

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two

Hello everybody

Thanks to Fikabo and Pixel for picking up their games. Hopefully we can get these finished by early November.

How are the games with Eobrian2 going? I have received no word on this.

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round Two

ahuyton (Tibetan Lords) won against Gentleman Ranker 58-32 This was actually a very close game for most turns. At one stage I counted three fragmented units on my side. I managed to pull ahead as the game broke up and pieces scattered. A draw would have been a fairer result I think. I concur with Br...

Re: The Ming and their enemies - Round One

So with just one game to go (Pixel v Eobrian2), our interesting Round One has come to a close. The anti-Ming are a clear winner and the Ming will have a hard job in Round Two to catch-up. Well done to SB, Fik, GR and EOB. I wonder if players would like to share their thoughts on the armies used, ta...
