Re: Cold War 46 Skirmish Mod 1.4
It's really fun to play with. I think the Soviet tanks are good against infantry but bad against tanks, while German tanks are good against tanks but decent against infantry. Us tanks sux against both infantry and tanks, lol. While the bazooka couldn't even penetrate the side armor of tanks, lol. Re...

Re: Too Easy for Routing Units to "Squeeze" out
You can image how a bundle of scattered people can ''squeeze" through ranks and joint of formations.
Accurately, normal formations can squeeze through diagnonals.

Re: Archers too weak
Compare to skirmishers, massive archer: 1. Has nearly double fire power at long range. 2. Definitely counters skirmishers, as no close-to-melee penalty from them. 3. Can charge and flank heavy units. 4. Have a decent chance to defect light horse charges. 5. Doesn't have a much better fire power at c...

Re: Break tests question
Am I correct in assuming some armies have a better chance of passing break tests due to higher morale or unit cohesion. For example Romans have more staying power than Carthaginians, and would take more losses before disrupting or fragmenting. If so - is this morale/cohesion or X-factor thats speci...

Re: Fall back cohesion test conditions
I've done some tests on hotseat mode. The logic behind cohesion test is now more vague to me... I've tested with one enemy camelry and some persia immortals. Once, an immortal retreated 90 degree from the camelry, no cohesion test; But after the camelry engaged another persian infantry, the same act...

Re: Two questions on capabilities, and one on tactics
For example if you line up like below: The green ones are raw troops and the red ones are elite troops. AA.png The you see your opponent concentrated their elite force or groups on your right and tries to break your right wing and your raw troops cannot hold that for sure. You can just turn every as...

Re: Two questions on capabilities, and one on tactics
1. No. All decorations are just for visual. All capabilities of a unit are shown in its introduction. 2. For 50% sword, they confer 50% PoA of sword (50 PoA against most of the targets, 25 PoA against steady spears/pikes). The exceptions are on impact phase, % weapons act like 100% (as the spears, h...

Re: Break or Evade???
1) what does threathened flank means. is it when a unit is having an enemy unit facing* its flank and having enough AP* to strike , or is it something bit more different , i need every detail. sometimes in this game details are powerful. I'm also wondering this. From what I got from google, being t...

Re: A question about armies and historical tactics
You can try to increase the width of the map but keep the points the same.
This can give you more maneuver space for the same army.

Re: Unfair battle option
You can try mirrorred match. So if you found the setup is not favor on one of the armies, you can see how your opponent would conquer it or suffer from it :) I'll second the request to allow players to pick their forces. Invariably when I've played the rearguard scenario I get an awful mix of troops...

Re: Fall back cohesion test conditions
I found the enemy units has a smaller angle on forcing fallback test than zoc.
I just retreated an irregular from spearmen's secondary zoc like below, no cohesion test taken.

Re: Break or Evade???
Is there any sort of rule of thumb or a method of predicting whether a fragmented unit will break or evade when charged? Too often, I am charging fragmented units and seeing them evade away... They take a cohesion test. If they fail the cohesion test they break, if they pass they evade. They will h...

Re: SUGGESTION: Support Naming Battles
I think there’re faction names on the names of the battles, but the header “Random Map Battle” is too long and made them on second important place.
Probably just switch places of them, but keep the epic battle name the same.

The FOG2 Digital League is also in the middle of a session. Each session lasts 10 weeks: http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=501 rbodleyscott It does occasionally recruit people to replace dropouts midseason. Hello blastom1016. There are going to be no drop-outs this season, but I can a...

Re: Fall back cohesion test conditions
Some other note, I’ve found, is that light horses can essentially prevent the enemy from adjusting formation due by forcing cohesion test on fallback. Not sure if light foots can do the same, even though they cannot charge. Light Horse and Light Foot do not cause a Falling Back unit to take a Cohes...

How to join a tournament?
I think I’m ready for some challenge. So I want to get knocked out from a tournament.
How can I join one and get knocked out?
I saw lots of threads in tournament sub forum, but most of them are for announcements and reports.
Where can I find the registration entry for a recruiting tournament?

Re: Fall back cohesion test conditions
I was a bit vague in what I meant mentioning the horse nomad tactics. What I mean is that there's a big difference between falling pack a few hundred paces at walking pace compared to full speed feigned rout that looks convincing enough to fool the enemy. I don't think the former would be anywhere ...
