Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order

[...] - The war between Macedonia and Rome ended as suddenly as it started with no casualties except Sparta, which was drastically reduced in size. The Greek nation was only saved through the timely intervention of the Antigonids, Carthage and Egypt who sued for peace on behalf of the beaten Sparta...

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game

I think the game is officially abandoned now. Does anybody has a snapshot of the final state? Preferable before AI Seleucids ate half of AI Antigonids?

edit. Actually, It's not that different from last screenshots posted by Geffalrus, I believe.

Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order

I dunno, somehow they got an idea that Terentium is in Macedonian "sphere of influence", whatever that means.

Re: Killer Stacks

I better stock up on money then. I think I know the true cause why Roman Empire collapsed: a new patch came out.

Re: Killer Stacks

I'm wouldn't want it to be too in details or "realistic", just would be nice to get some common sense in first approximation. (Imperator: Rome was quite a mess when I played, maybe it's better now. But all these small details loyalty mechanics were mostly annoying) Right now 4 star XP high quality ...

Re: Killer Stacks

Sadly, I'm starting to see "killer stacks" of ships or troops appearing in the game too often. These massive troop concentrations are, IMHO, skewing the game too much. I know the developers have established a supply system that overall works quite well but does not mitigate army/fleet concentration...

The attack/defence mechanic is killing combat...
We are 6 light cavalry detachments and they are 12 legion with light infantry support.

What do we do?

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game

The thing is that I don't enjoy combat mechanics by itself, so after the game gets railroaded politically I'm not that excited anymore.

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game

Hey folks. Just checking in to see who's still in the game and who's checked out. I know devon's out (but probably lurking). Desertedfox put up a good fight, but is now in dire straights. I'm engaged in a regular military back and forth with ledo (Carthage), but I just noticed that this turn his mu...

Re: False Allies

When you sign a peace treaty with another nation, you can't attack them for a number of turns (10 I think). I think there should be a similar mechanic in the game after breaking an alliance. Totally agree with that, I think this is very inconsistent currently. Either have 10 turn timer on both or d...

My bad, in stable, government age don't add up on Decadence ...
Thanks for clearing this up!

I still think I would want to ride forever stable choo choo train, expecially when economy becomes more important.

Thanks loki100 for linking your AAR, that was a great read!

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

Oh I forgot one more thing: - 1 unit in garrison behind walls (probably with attached defensive general) of border regions to increase the odds of garrison troops winning battle during sudden invasions. Even a 0-1 general increases the average rolled value of all units by approximately 2 (if you do...

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

Could you guys put up some more maps, please? Looks like you are having fun, I am wondering how it looks. My excuse is technological ignorance but those who have the ability to screenshot may be hamstrung in that the fog of war means you can see borders but not armies in lands away from their own, ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order

This is to confirm that romans are dead scared of water and elephants and so we sign long term Non-aggression pact with Carthage (a whoooping 10 turn warning between any hostilities). First Consul Pnoff is working to earn nickname "the Thirsty Drinker" as opposed to "the Thirsty Conqueror" he got in...

Re: Is the decadence mechanism need a bit of tweaking?

Sorry guys but I want to bump it agaim. Could more people, please, confirm or deny that you don't get decadence from status age when stable? That would contradict If you never move out of stable, then you get a cumulative +3% decadence from govt age per turn... and if this is a bug I hope it will be...

Re: Field of Diplomacy: A New World Order

I think for me the main thing in a diplomacy game is to have all countries have as many points of contention/contact with other players as possible, so no one feels like they're sitting out the game, and we don't waste player slots on countries that will largely be spectators. Arvernii seems to hav...
