Re: 3 horrible flaws in this game..

Regarding being unable to move after attacking, that's also the case in other games such as Age of Wonders: Planetfall that just came out. There are probably many others but I just don't know all the games. It's a valid design choice in my opinion, but I'd like to hear why one thinks it makes a game...

I didn't manage to break it again either when I tried. It's good you implemented autosaves, and thanks for the quick fix.

Re: 3 horrible flaws in this game..

1. There are ruins etc. The rewards you get usually outrigh the 25 gold loss of losing one turn to get there. Also, in many maps, you have so much fog of war that you have to scout/explore anyway. 2. I think this makes the game more strategic. Discounting those units that can do hit and run, since t...

Game stuck on end of charm

I was playing a scenario where Falirson got charmed by a harpy. The harpy probably got killed by some AI lizardman, because, during the green AI's turn, Falirson turned back from grey to blue. A bunch of messages Speed/Poisonous Fumes then ran across the screen from top to bottom and disappeared aft...

Re: Absorbing a client state?

You never have the option, but the client state will give you territories if they are adjacent to several of your own territories. Also if it's not their capital. So if they are an island, you're stuck, otherwise, they will turn the border territories over time.

Re: Is the decadence mechanism need a bit of tweaking?

You already have lots of choices to reduce decadence/increase culture/increase loyalty at province level. The issue is if you are at government level 1 or 2, you lack any efficient options. To me, the biggest CDR issue early on is when you accumulated tons of slaves due to war, which cause your main...

Re: When can I absorb my client states?

It seems to happen in one way for the ai, and for the player, you will get gifts of provinces only. Non capital provinces bordered by several of your own provinces (I think 3) will eventually get gifted. Looks like very random as to when that happens.

Re: province auto management

LDiCesare, just a quick workaround for your issue of missing "next idle region" button is to go to the "Regions" tab from the ledger, which shows all the buildings your regions are producing on the right. I use this regularly to set my building queues quickly and review if all regions are producing...

Re: province auto management

What you propose is a completely different game. It also doesn't address the question about what happens when you lose part of a province? If you have only 1 region left, what happens? Do you keep the extra buildings? Having a single queue per province doesn't really reduce the micro. I like the cur...

Re: The Game doesn't understand the four colour theorem

A solution to the color problem is to allow the player to change the hue of their own nation and mayeb of any other nation, using a color selector. That way if I want to have Pontus appear blue because I'm Athens and we're both white but we share a border (as Dacia I always have a brown neighbour, e...

Re: Abandoned Palace Used For Stones

You don't have control over it.
The abandoned palace is the former capital of a conquered nation. It's possible to have several in a single province.
You lose a building providing both legacy and decadence and get some infrastructure instead.

Re: province auto management

The automated build options are really opaque and hard to understand. Also, why does the ai build nothing at times? It seems to shun buildings that increase decadence, even when they would be welcome (noble gardens for instance), or expensive ones (prison, no downside). It would be nice to be able t...

Re: The Game doesn't understand the four colour theorem

Also, that theorem is valid for contiguous regions. In this game, countries are often not connex at all. It's common to have a bit of Carthage here and there on the map, not connected to the rest. Thus, the theorem cannot apply to this game. But yes, there should be options to customise at least som...

Re: FOGE : diplomacy overhaul and upgrade

In my games, Ptolemaids, Macedonians, Carthaginians, Romans, Maurya tend to blob and remain quite stable if left alone. I've seen the occasional Aethiopia taking over Carthage and then exploding for Carthage to rise as a Phoenix. So if there's an issue, it could be Seleucid-specific. They have speci...

Or maybe that you control a lot of territories with low loyalty and that the ai believes you can't hold all that territory.

Re: FOGE : diplomacy overhaul and upgrade

It is for player and AI. I am playing a full game as Rome and I ve seen several nation blob until they explode like Seuleucid , Macedonia , Mauya( Indian nation ) , Carthage , then Persia and several tribes who keep eating independent provinces until they explode. It seems we need a bit more mechan...

Re: province auto management

I play long games, and indeed the endgame is full of micromanagement. I don't think automation would help solve it for me, but I think there are several UI elements that could be made better: First, auto management UI would really be better if each of the 2 series of buttons told you what it is supp...

Re: Too much money?

I think manpower could maybe be changed so that creating a lot of units actually costs population. Or takes from the food stockpile points of population. And maybe remove manpower altogether. This way, we would only have to avoid snowballing money and metal. Lack of metal is usually easy to circumve...

Re: FOGE : diplomacy overhaul and upgrade

Not exacly colonialism. But something like settling unclaimed region should take time . Rome or Macedonia or Carthage shouldn't roll over entire regions like entire Africa, Germany and Balkans. So setting settlement in unclaimed area should need time devellop and you should have limits on how many ...
