If they do not have javelins listed as a shooting weapon in the army list then they cannot do so.

The largest unit that I know of to use the wedge formation was the Byzantine Clibanophoroi, a unit of 504 men. Alexander the Greats's Companion cavalry also used the wedge, but I would have to verify whether the wedges were formed by each Ile or the sub-units of the Ile. Note that base depths are gr...

Wedges were usually formed by smaller tactical units than those used for FOG. See Asclepiodotus "Tactics part VII -The Cavalry". As such each base would consist of one or more wedges. Nice looking figures.

The multiple units of four that have been recommended are sometimes referred to as "The Dom Rom Swarm". See http://www.madaxeman.com/wiki2/tiki-ind ... nate+Roman for tips.

I have used artist mat board for my plastics. I had some on heavier bases and unfortunately the box they were in was knocked over. I had to spend some time gluing broken figures together that were damaged by the heavy bases. No such problem with the mat board.

Wikipedia has a couple of maps showing tribal locations in France. and might be your best help in determining which tribes were what type. The battles you list cover a wide variety of locations. Allia, and Telamon were fought in Italy Sabis, also known as the battle of Sambre, was fought in Belgium....

If you can find a copy I would also recommend "Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars" for uniform information. Silius Italicus and Polybius are the two ancient authors that mention anything about the colors that were used.

Last year we tried a game treating Undead as plain Superior without capabilities. They don't do a great deal of damage, but they do tie up the opposition for a variable but often significant length of time. That would be http://iranistan.blogspot.com/2009/04/field-of-glory-fantasy-rules-playtest.ht...

I would have to agree that the quality levels are too high and that there are too many special rules. I would make the dwarfs resistant to magic though.
There is also a dwarf army list for middle earth at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/FoG_fantasy/

I have used my 6mm against 15mm on several occasions. It was also done under dbx by another. see http://folk.uio.no/arnsteio/DBXin6mm/ There are several photos of his army in the tournament section.
