Re: Amendments to V3?
Quite clear to me, in doing a round robin of the likely rule candidates for ancients, that FoG AM is now as dead as a Dodo and may as well be written off for anyone new to the ancients scene, heck, even DBMM has more life in it. ADLG seems to be by far the most popular and dominant set. I far prefer...

Re: Holding the Ring scenario
In fact, now I think about it, I found this scenario probably the most annoying and unbalanced of the whole lot requiring an INCREDIBLE degree of luck (e.g your ATG not getting taken out too quickly and you arty barrages actually hitting something rather an every square but that which holds an enemy...

Re: Holding the Ring scenario
Yep, the scenario is incredibly tough. Shoot n scoot to the extreme otherwise there's no chance. The Germans also seem to have a greater degree of luck in terms of their accuracy and long range kill ability than the Allies who at times can't seem to be able to hit the side of a barn door. Not sure y...

OK game but some tactical issues
Mostly I'm a tabletop gamer and rarely bother with computer games unless they are games like Combat Mission. However, for some light, casual entertainment I thought I'd give BA a try. Mostly I think it's quite good, albeit quite pricey for an iPad game, and albeit for the price I would prefer a litt...

Moving 25lb gun
Is it possible? Just playing one of the later desert missions where you can buy two. On their own they can't be moved so I bought two Matadors thinking they'd act as tows for them. Seems not. Will go try Universal Carrier as there prime mover as such. But, can they be moved at all? Expensive units i...

Would be happy to be a beta tester. Was a beta tester for FoG Ancients and have been for one published Napeleonic Rule Set (In the Name of Glory v2). Long time Naps player at all levels but yet to find that all elusive decent set. Currently play: Shako II; Grand Armee; Black Powder and Piquet, in ad...

FoG - Out of Stock??
Friend of mine recently asked where he could get FoG from. I told him Amazon but he said it's OOS. Tried Caliver but they have it at £32.50 with claims that they are "scouring the World for stock" as it is OOP at publishers? Is a new print run expected soon or is it suspended now until v2 ...

Magister Militum black plastic bases. All sizes you might want. Never use anything else nowadays. http://www.navigatorminiatures.com/prodtype.asp?PT_ID=460 P. Thanks for that, don't know how I missed those!! I used MDF a lot before and while I'm quite happy with it I find that some times the cuttin...

What the rule on posting modeling questions? There, are we back OT yet? Did you READ the sentence at the end!!!! Nah, I was too busy trying to decipher your rules question. Ah, apologies. There wouldn't have seemed much of need to post a smart-alec comment to most people given my comments at the en...

Rendera (plastic) bases for FoG??
Anyone used these at all?? Must admit I've gone off MDF a little due to the height and was pointed in the direction of this company: http://www.renedra.co.uk/webstore.html Think i will be giving these ago for my next 4 FoG armies but with one reservation. I don't see 40 x 15mm listed as a base size ...

Good point!! I'm not that keen on being tied to a BG of Ghilmans also as any Kn I have I'd like adorned with a cross or suitable Jerusalem heraldry (maybe even Ridley Scott powder blue!!). Thanks eldiablito. I'd seen the threads on the Syrian army / Crusader ally and while I'm sure it may be the bes...

Later Crusader allies - Bedouin or Syrian?
Looking to start my LC army soon. Been reading through the various threads and conclude that it would be a good idea to get some LH into the army via an ally. So, for those playing, or playing against, an LC army what tends to be the more effective, bow or lancer LH? Clearly Bedouin gives the capabi...
