French GTTT review on Histogames.com

The game gets an excellent 8.5/10 on Historia Games website: http://www.histogames.com/HTML/test/gettysburg-the-tide-turns.php. The main concern is the artillery, which can advance after combat and is so powerful that players tend to use their cannons to gain ground. I suggest that players not advan...

Other questions

Probably my last series of questions: 1. Does the "6" combat to-hit number in towns (section 3.2.1 of the manual, p. 7) mean that an attacker has 100% chance to hit a target located in urban terrain (assuming there is no other modifier applicable)? 2. Does the estimated damage showed befor...

Re: Some questions

Thanks for the answers. :-) About LOS (question 3), the info I needed was actually this one: "… A LOS exists between a unit on a higher elevation to one on lower so long as the elevation change hex is the same distance or closer to the higher unit …" That rule explains how my artillery cou...

Some questions

Here are my specific questions about this very interesting game: 1. Do an isolated unit (surrounded or lost behind enemy line) heal at the end of turn the same way as other units do? 2. In Terrain Feature Table, what does mean the following sentence: +1/-1 Hit Chance is high to low/low to high ( eve...

French version problem solved

CEAW GS 3.1 has an issue with the French interface messages, that are completely wrong. The problem is caused by a slight shift of 2 or 3 line codes. Here is the solution: in the folder Contents/Resources/Java/data, replace the "message_fre.txt" with the attached one (after having unzipped...

Re: GS 3. How to revert to English?

The problem is that in many cases, the interface messages are completely wrong. It seems the correspondance between the translation items is completely broken. I found and corrected the file that was causing the problem : in the folder Contents/Resources/Java/data, replace the "message_fre.txt...

Few questions

Hi. I just played the first scenario and I wonder about these few questions : 1. Is FRtM the mobile version of Unity of Command or did it only borrow the units' look? If they are not the same game, what else do they have in common? 2. A unit can't go through another friendly unit. Is it a permanent ...

Preview of Da Vinci's Art of War (wargamer.fr)

The English translation of Da Vinci's Art of War preview, published on wargamer.fr, had been moved to http://www.wargamesforeveryone.net/2014 ... eview.html, but that blog doesn't exist anymore.

Re: French proofreading and in game testing help needed.

Hi Anguille.

I have sent you an English-French Word file. It contains all the corrections I made since the most recent game's patch.

Use it to improve the commander biographies and send it back to me. I will then transfer all the modifications in the French .txt file.

Thanks ! :-)

Re: French proofreading and in game testing help needed.

Bonjour Anguille.

Re: French proofreading and in game testing help needed.

Hi again. I completed the correction of the tutorial and briefing French texts and made some light improvements to the part that has been already reviewed. So there are only the descriptions of technologies and commander's biographies left to be done. I made a request on some French forums to get a ...

Re: French proofreading and in game testing help needed.

Hi fellows. I feel that I'm ready to continue the translation of the game during the next 2-3 weeks. I will rewrite the "briefings" and the "tutorial messages". I leave the "biographies" to Anguille if he is still willing to take part in the work. :-) Tim (Lordzimoa) : ...

Getting a new download link

Hi.
I registered my serial number of Battle Academy: Operation Husky on My Page/My Serials and now I would like to get a new download link for the installer (Mac version). I don't see any place on the Slitherine Web site where I can ask for it.
