As mentioned in another post, we hear you. We are working on a complete AI overhaul--not a tweaking of the current AI, but rebuilding it from the ground-up. If you like the lore, the new AI will also feature unique personalities for each realm. Stay tuned!

We are developing an AI overhaul. This isn't tweaking the current AI, but redoing it from the ground-up. Think of it as Sovereignty Redone. The beta patch on steam now makes the Sonneneve easier, with respect to keeping Sirucil alive.
This is actually part of a general fix, that makes any "keep X Realm alive" a bit more manageable.

You can build buildings within provinces by clicking the upgrade button at the bottom of the campaign UI panel.
You'll need a Tier 1 building before you can build a Tier 2, and so on...

The ability to learn 6 spells is intended. This presents a hard choice in how you wish to advance through the tree. You must plan carefully.

Due to it's proposed economic bonus, perhaps it would be an Outpost.
Another thought is that it would function as a lesser Capital in terms of economic fall-off of provinces as they lie further from the Capital.

Agreed on the current state of AI vs Human. Iron Barony can really swamp enemies in the hands of a human, but it has a hard time dealing on the same level as AI. Vessoi is in a similar predicament.

The game as it is right now, heavily favors large blocks of infantry, with a couple trebuchets to back them up. I should add that this is especially useful for realms such as Iron Barony, which can raise hordes of weaker units. Eventually, defenders just get worn down. Well, you can do that in waves, attacking from 3 provinces in separate battles in the same turn. I realize this isn't combining forces for a massive battle, but one army getting attacked 3 times in the same turn can be very tough even on a seasoned army. Everyone will have the same number of spells to learn. Elves tend to learn them faster due to magic heavy landmarks.
