Re: next gen CC question

I think the scale will be more like a sudden strike 3 than a tow game. And close combat games don't need an excessive zoom in. The only things in the former games, that were a little hard to see, were the hand to hand fights. I just hope that the graphics will be still attractive : the last 3D games...

Re: next gen CC question

Thanks for your answers 1) The campaign system will likely be different. Several ideas have been proposed but it probably will not be the same type of strategic map that we have now. This really hasn't been solidified enough to give information yet. mmmmh I'm afraid of this :) (I find the actual str...

next gen CC question

1. Will you keep all the improvements made so far (as the possibility to move 2 BG on the same map)? 2. Will the walls still be crossable or will they be more concrete? 3. Will the 3D maps sudivided in tiles and coded as before? How will you render the difference between wood and brick walls by samp...

Re: So many questions but above all how is the Scenario edit

if there was not a next gen CC game after, I would be very excited by pitf. One thing that could also be done : after you campaign, the player could be able to see the stats of each BG! Medals could be described with a pop up window : that's for the next CC game! ;)

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog

Von Ryan I'm not really talking about detail per se but about how much of the map you see on the screen at any one time without having to scroll around. Many 3D games just don't work from top down view due to them obviously being made to play in the no top down view (can't think of a better term). ...

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog

In a previously post (25/04/12) you indicated that 'the original scale was too small and that we finally play with soldiers, vehicles and even maps that are not at the right scale (5 pixels by meter).' Could you post a couple of your own (mod) screenshots and advise what scale you would suggest for...

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog

you can download the stalingrad mod here : http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/mo ... ads&cid=25
If you want to see some features and previews, it's there http://www.closecombatseries.net/Hosted ... index.html
The mod works only with the original CC5.

Re: Close combat - Panthers in the Fog

though I have drawn a lot of maps for Close Combat (and especially the stalingrad ones), I'm happy that the new engine after panthers in the fog will be a 3D one. The restriction with the 2D and the last engine was too restrictive (one thing that always bothers me was the fact that the original scal...
