Re: Join the Beta of Panzer Corps 2!

Tested for the PanzerCorps & DLCs.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the successor is developing.

Re: Need any playtesters?

For me, single player campaign play is what it is all about.

I loved the Grand campaign DLcs for PC 1 and was involved in the beta testing.

I'm champing at the bit for the beta to be announced to get involved with testing again.

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #2

Do you get a choice on the path you take? You say the theatres will be inter-connected, but I wonder if players will get the choice to pick their theatre and to stay there? For example, after the initial conflict kicks off - sort of the like the West/East of the Grand Campaign. Yes, in some cases y...

Re: Prepare the tanks! Panzer Corps Gold is OUT!

I think it's flattering to compare Panzer Corps to that list of AAA titles. Phew that's a nice feeling. :D All of the content, prior to this full package, is priced well above the entirety of the Gold Pack. Adding all DLC to cart, as it is on Steam right now, is $120 (something like 107 euro). That...

Re: Battle of Britain is out!

A really fun mod & very nicely done.

I am unsure whether it is the engine or the way the mod is configured.

It seems very cpu intensive, especially on the AI turn late game.

Re: Place names on maps?

A refinement on that would be to have options for All - All Victory hexes - Major Victory hexes - none.

Re: Super fast infantry

Not only that, in the naval scenarios the ships cover nearly as much water as the aircraft.

I don't think the ship movement is excessive, so perhaps increase the movement points of the aircraft?

Re: How to use Torpedos efficiently?

I hope the automatic hit for all torpedos is looked at.

Duds were also an issue, especially for the USN.

Re: Fantastic game - here's my first impressions

As stated in the game, early war Japan had well trained experienced pilots which helped their early war dominance. The Zero carried no armour for lightness, speed & agility & lacked self sealing fuel tanks. That is why so many turned into a fireball under a lucky / well aimed burst The Wildcat was a...

Re: Fantastic game - here's my first impressions

I think you need to define 'better'.

IIRC Zeros are faster & more agile but a lot lighter & more fragile in construction.

Wildcats are solidly built but not as agile.

Then you have the pilot skill variables.

Re: Fantastic game - here's my first impressions

The engine is a little bit too prone to FPS drops. I don't have the most expensive rig, but my PC is powerful enough not to break out in sweat when playing the newest FPS (with reasonable settings), yet the OOB engine has it visibly struggling at times. I do think the graphics, whilst pretty, are n...

Re: A Midway surprise

True.
It might be a scale issue, but as it is at the moment there isn't enough room for the invasion force to land.

Re: A Midway surprise

The surprise for me on this scenario was that the map had so little land.

It might be an interesting variation if there were enough landmass to enable some ground based combat in the event of the invasion force landing?

Re: Fantastic game - here's my first impressions

I'm very much in agreement with your stated views. I do think the graphics, whilst pretty, are not well optimised. My mid range rig sweats with this game, which it really should not. The briefings are too brief. :P They should give extra information as to suggested target data & any specific equipme...

Re: Unit Experience

I would be more in favour of a mechanic where each star gained gives a perceptable improvement in performance.
Just a thought that occured, how about if each experience star enabled a buff in one area?
That way you could customise unit effectiveness to attack or defence.

Re: Coral Sea USA

I would make sure to engage the fleet to the East of Moresby to get their attention. After getting mauled by them steam full speed to the South. The AI red mist will ensure they determinedly pursue you. ( Now watch them fix that in a patch. ) I didn't bother with engaging the large fleet warne...

Re: Coral Sea USA

Well the first attempt I made, it never crossed my mind that I would have enough 'prestige' to afford an extra AC, so I went in with just the one. Late on it got sunk so that was campaign over. :( There is a small flotilla that enters near to Port Moresby a few turns in. It will probably fail to cop...

Naval animations.

How about a splash only animation when zero damage done?

Also how about oil & debris when a sub is sunk?

How about a summary screen at the end of the scenario, displaying unit losses?
