Brett ,I'm not sure of your logic .
"Big dumb "armies ie swarm style of play ,are a bane in any rules system but you want Ottomans to be capable of that by making them cheaper ?

Re: V2 Turks
Regarding Sipahis , they were definitely battle cavalry , forming the largest part of the army . Classifying them as lights makes them unusable All reports speak of the training and use of the lance . They were lancers .Again, I feel we are changing history to fit game mechanics or points. Cossacks ...

Re: V2 Turks
I don't see how you can take away their lance . They had it . All the Ottoman cav used the lance to a greater or lesser extent "the Djellis' primary weapon was a long lance" ( W E Johnson "The Crescent Among the Eagles") "'the majority of the Sipahis ...were usually armed wi...

Re: Swedish cavalry help?
All good points . You are right about the large units ( how did I miss that ? ) , so 2 large becomes 3 small. Still great holding a flank on a hill . The Brunswickers are there because they look cool and deliver a lot of fire . If I take more Swedes and a gun battery the army becomes a vanilla of no...

Re: Swedish cavalry help?
True ,but it wouldn't have taken much to make it right grrr I looked at Blue Moons infantry ,they look good. I think the Swedes used a Russian cuirassier uniform ( pre-horse hair crest) so again I can use Blue Moon .The hussars were in mirliton and I already have some from my Rev War French I'm stil...

I love the pre 1800 period and I find the points paid for a better General is worth it for those armies that need to be attacking
