Re: 0.10.0 feedback

Cheers. Encountered a strange situation where I founded a new city when my food stock was at zero with negative production. The city went from 1 pop to 0 pop, but still stayed on the map (albeit unable to produce anything). I reassigned workers in my HQ to get +ive food again and after a few turns t...

0.10.0 feedback

Had a chance to have a little play with the latest version and hope the following feedback is useful. 1. The new world graphics are fantastic and really help give Pandora its own personality. You've struck a great balance between a world that looks habitable and full of terrestrial greenery, whilst ...

Re: City Sprawl

* Mega cities. Mega cities are created when 2 smaller cities combine. Clicking on either open the shared city window for both. Any buildings built in either are added to the mega city. After this all building costs are 150% normal so less than building in both but you get the benfit in both. Only o...

Re: First Impressions

So do what SMAC did and do blind research where you can choose a research area (economy, military, science etc) but not a specific tech. I think what everyone is getting at is that we don't have any idea how to prioritise different areas because there's no indication of how to reach certain techs fr...

Re: [Poll] More Alien-Looking World?

Looking different would be good. What would be REALLY good is if it started out looking different, covered in inhospitable alien stuff, and then through a games worth of terraforming it began to look more like earth. I.E. Alpha Centauri.... ^^ this Of course there's nothing preventing humanity dest...

Re: My first few hours with Pandora

Jon Schafer recently discussed some of the issues facing 4x games (slitherine's fantastic Unity of Command also gets some praise); of particular relevance to this discussion is the exhaustion at around the mid-game where most players find they have things sewn up and the rest is just a slow inevitab...

Re: First impressions

Sorry, yes

That save also has another issue - when you load it you get the message which I think is about the start of a science victory. when you close it it leaves that big blank report window shown in the screenshot above, with no way to get rid of it.

Re: First impressions

pandora.jpg ^^ morale is -42, and as you can see there is only about -14% on food production. The other resources are similar. I didn't mean the holo theatre, couldn't remember the names. The point remains that even the most advanced buildings would be unable to assist in controlling that level of ...

Re: My first few hours with Pandora

Wow, thanks for such attention Rok. Of course I didn't think to keep a copy of the savegame, but I'll think on from now should I come across any further strangeness. I hadn't touched colonist assignments at all. When you mentioned it I had a look and found that if I assigned the pop of one of my cit...

Re: First impressions

Currently moral seems to have completely negligible effects. I also noticed this. On the late stage of one game I had a city with a population of 40+ (can't remember exactly, but it was my second largest city) and morale of -48. The effect of this was about a -14% reduction in resource production, ...

Re: First play through

I agree with stacked movement. I realised that you can shift+click to select and move multiple units at once, but the problem I have with that is you have to do it every single turn. The units need to have a CivIV style group control that maintains groups between turns. Prettymuch every single simil...

My first few hours with Pandora

My first ten minutes spent with Pandora gave me a huge smile as I sat there thinking "it's a modern SMAC, hurrah!". After the initial inevitable comparison I'm not sure it starts to show much of it's own personality though. This might just be because there are so many assets not included in the Beta...
