Re: Demo game at Advance the Colors September 14th
I am using 1812 lists for Russians vs French.. Though I fudged the list a bit for the learning game.. Roughly 950 points aside.. Each person will be running a division or so.. I got it listed as 6 players, but I can take up to 8. Basically each side will have 3 infantry divisions and a cavalry divis...

Re: QRS
I agree, I am putting on a 6 player game at Advance the Colors next month and all I have is the QRS from the yahoo group.. Though useful for a player who knows the rules.. It looks very scary to a new player.

Bought some Russians at a flea market
I bought 2 big lots of Russians at the flea market at Historicon from two different people.. I got them base ready to go.. Several of the units I thought had really dark green uniforms.. They now look black/blue:-/ They are old minifigs it looks like.. I remember reading something about a German leg...

Re: 800 or 1000
Each round you score points, I don't think I have seen a tie and the end of a 3 round tourney.. 6 games over 3 days would not happen at a normal Con.. That's the IWF.. Basically at 3 day Con.. You will have one day for FOgA, next FOGR.. Then a day for FOGN.. That way you do not dillute your.players.

Re: 800 or 1000
I have no issue playing 3.5-4 hrs rounds.. That is a normal tourney round game.. The issue was 6 games.. For me 3-4 games for a tourney is what I can handle.. 650 points like I said would be a good way to introduce people into the game.. Or if you were short on Time.. Like Thursdays at Historicon. 3...

ATC demo games in Ohio in September?
I have a few games under my belt at Historicon, some friends and myself are getting together to learn the game some more at the end of August.. Was wondering if there would be any interest in me putting together a learning game at Advance the Colors in Springfield Ohio next month... Something like 3...

Re: 800 or 1000
If I want a quick playing set of rules, I play DBA or big battle DBA... I also have a Napoelonic version of them:) When I want a more serious game, I play FOG.

Re: 800 or 1000
All the ancient tournies that I have ever been in over the last 14yrs are 3.5 hour rounds.. That's with the FOG games and DBM.. At the IWF in 2009 they had 6 games over 3 days.. 2 each day.. A little too much for me, but it had to.be worth while for everyone traveling from all over the world to play...

Re: 800 or 1000
Having played in FOG:A tourneys at 900.points and FOG:R at 800 points, 3.5 hrs works fine up get a battle settled.. For FOG:N.. 1000 points is too much and 650 is too small. I like 850-900 points.. Though the 650 would be good for a beginners tourney. 2 hour rounds maybe.

Re: Historicon July 20-21
Got of the phone with Herc/Jeff I have a 90 percent change of coming now :D Both of us are looking for something for the theme on Friday.. I don't care what it is.. I just want to play, as does he. For the FOG:R open, I was hoping to get into FOG:N and letting Jeff use my Italian wars stuff. I was h...

Re: Historicon July 20-21
Alas, I now cannot come.. Because some crackheads broke into my house and stole my tv and xbox among other things.. I am now spending money on an alarm system, instead of coming out on vacation.

I concur, making a list for Historcon... A Cuirassier Division is very pricy if I have to field 3 of them:-/

Re: What do you think about this list for Russian Inf Corps?
Going by the list, up to 1 mixed divison may be usded which may contain up to 8 bases of dragoons and up to 6 bases of light cavalry.. All mixed and Infantry divisions MUST contain 3 Inf and 1 artillery unit... I didn't realize I could make a cav div out of my infantry list... I'll tinker with it so...
