Re: V2 Cossacks And Irregular LC.

"Counter-charge. Only allowed if Assaulting unit is Irregular Light Cavalry or if they pass a CT."

so irregular light cavalry charged by infantry can counter charge if the pass a CT? I have no problem with this, and does give irregular LC more options.

Re: V2 Turks

Is there any thoughts on where the turkish list will go in the future? I'm still pretty keen on getting a turkish army.

On Mikhailovsky-Danilevsky's 2 volume "Russo-Turkish War of 1806-12" thinking of getting this ,is it worthwhile ? (I know it's skimpy of the Ottomans)

Re: V2 Cavalry heavy v light in Terrain

Would facing light cavalry mod + to hit. If so it's pretty decisive, Heavy cavalry will usually roles lighter in rough and difficult terrain.

cruisers face hussars in difficult 4 dice hitting on 3;s v 4 dice hitting on 4's.

In difficult heavy used to loss 1 in 2 dice to lights 1in 3.

v2 has made heavy cavalry better v light in difficult.

V2 Cavalry heavy v light in Terrain

My reading the rules has heavier cavalry versus light being better in rough terrain than the open, as the dice additions are bigger relative to the number of dice. Thus Heavy cavalry is more likely to win in rough difficult terrain than in the open in the v2 rules right now. Seems wrong. (of course ...

Re: V2 Redoubts.

Their is no mention of shooting arcs for redoubts that i can find. Reading the rules they sorts say you shoot 360 degrees like buildings.

Can/How do artillery move in and out of Redoubts, isn't mentioned.

Re: V2 Redoubts.

Further thoughts on redoubts, if firing out of redoubts is going to be like firing from Buildings, what about the consistency on artillery attachments, are artillery units WITH artillery attachments going get a bonus like infantry units? Then the different between small + attachment v large artiller...

Irregular/Conscipt units lead by Brigade commanders and CMTs

CMTS outside 6MU of the enemy cost 2 cps in v2 for irregular and conscripts. if they are out side of command range it would be 3. But if the case where they have their own brigade commander (thus 1cp) does the additional cp need to be in command range ? or does cost overall 2 or 3? Just thinking abo...

V2 Redoubts.

some questions and queries. there is no size. hold s1 hit of any size. there is no advantage for a art attach inside/ (unlike buildings) there is no occupying there is only defending (saying the movements the same as buildings begs the question) when firing from a redoubt at umlibered artillery can ...

Reading HofSchroeder book on 1815, he says that some Prussian ulan units were recent conversions from other units had not received any lances and no training in their use in any case. he actually pretty disparaging of the quality of Prussian cavalry in 1815, understrength, little cohesion (patched t...

Re: Frontal Assault going backwards

Does this also mean artillery can't deploy? That would appear a bit odd. Certainly I can understand the restriction balancing the benefits for other troops but not artillery. Under the current version limbered artillery would have wait until turn 2 to limber. do you mean Unlimber? as limbered artil...

V2 Cossacks And Irregular LC.

I Simply cannot understand why they would need a CMT to move backwards. i cannot see historically how they would have any problem what so ever running away. The previous CMT to go to close range made sense, now the enemy with 2MU more apr less pins than 2/3 of the time (cache of passing CMT) and end...

Re: V2 Turks

I have some turkish figures and sooner or later I will get them on the table. I can see the argument for the Jannissaries going to irregular (though this may well mean more painting and figures) And I can se the argument about the lance. I would like to see some consistency in the treatment of caval...

Re: Jaegers, Voltiguers, Tirraileurs, Fusiliers and Light In

From what I've read, the British were regarded ads the bets mounted cavalry , then Russian, then German (the French were possible got German horses). The Russians seem to have hardier breeds, but not always the best looking, TheRussians had also set up a system of state stud farms that was working w...

make sure it's clear about what can be done, does the super imposed piece need to be smaller so it fits entirely on the feature being superimposed on?

Re: FOG N 2nd Edition - it's back!

Terrain Placement, superimposing one feature on another. Not clear,. Can a feature be placed on another feature already placed (some one places a hill and later a brush is added during another terrain placement action) OR must both features be placed at the same time you place a hill with brush at t...
