Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

My wife works for one of the big four international publishing houses, and laughed when I told her about this. She works in the department which collects info on what's selling and what isn't, and despite the doom and gloom, printed books are still selling well. In fact, some e-books are not selling...

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

I heard the comments from a fairly well respected veteran of the wargaming scene and Impetus is utterly broken. We've been playing it quite a bit at the club for the last year or two, and it's been fine so far. What did he claim was broken about it, do you remember? It was to do with Light Horse. A...

I prefer Impetus, and the Basic Impetus is free, so you can tell people to check it out and then sell them the proper version (with supps) when they like what they see.

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !

How will this affect other FoG games? Are we going to see the rest of the planned FoG Ren and FoG Nap stuff out in print? Will their inevitable second eds be released on digital only?

Re: Cavalry Charging

Just had our second night of our first game of FOGN and a few questions arose: 1) British cavalry charged a French infantry unit in line. The French unit threw a 6 and formed square. The British HC fought and flowed around the square. Does the cavalry lose 1 base and become spent? 2) Can cavalry wh...

Got the rules and army lists today. Very happy bo I must say. Surprised to see that Aztecs were included but Asians (Koreans, Samurai, Ming) were not! :D Bear in mind that a LOT of stuff was missing, not just eastern lists. These are by no means anywhere near the amount of lists they'll be doing, j...

There's a FoGR playtest section to the forum; we'll be commenting there when they open it up to us. That may take a while though, since they have to go through and add us all as allowed posters. I know the FoGN ones took a week or two to get everyone in there after the playtest materials were sent r...

Timeframe for official release and army list books

What sort of timeframe are we looking at for the official release of the FoGN and R books? I know exact dates are impossible to pin down at this stage, but are we looking at a release later this year? Q1 next year? sometime 2011? Also, what army list books do you envision releasing? How are you goin...

There are 2 standard basing systems used in the rules, which will be able to be used together.
Can you give us any idea what these basing systems will be? It'd be nice to be able to base stuff up now rather than later. Why two? 15mm and 25mm, or something else?

Re: FOG army deal - Normans/Early Crusaders ?

Does anyone know of or can recommend a supplier of FOG/DBM army deals for Normans/Early Crusaders ? Thinking of a new project , maybe after my Minoans. I'd stick with a mix of two dragons, alain touller and Khurasanian miniatures. Are 2 Dragons still going? I thought they'd stopped producing stuff ...

OhReally, I can vouche for 50paces.com. Excellent service and nice models. My opponent and I grabbed our camp models from them as well as bases, miniatures, etc etc. They're not a US distributor though, as they're in Canada... so how about a North American based distributor? Shipping is still cheap...
