Re: Considering about the dinosaurs of Matrix Games

So I'm reading the OPs comments and it's like "Is this one of my posts?" but no, it's not me. But it is comically like me. Heck, I almost wonder if he had copy pasted me :)

Re: Panzer General is dead.

I was browsing through the various threads and came across this one that was interesting. The first post ended with this question: Your thoughts? Since this was the first time I had read it and the thread appeared to be timeless, I responded. Well, when you consider all that is Panzer Corps Gold, a...

Re: Panzer General is dead.

Wow, I come onto Slitherine forums after like years, and one of my first views is a 5 year old necrothread :)

Dude, what inspired you to resurrect this thread?

Re: Question on serials with new downloads of installer file

Hmm not sure how this would change things. But I bought the 2013 file for a friend who clearly has not registered it.

I will leave things alone while you ponder what to do.

Question on serials with new downloads of installer file

Just a question regarding the registration of any new serials after being given a new download of the installation file. I required a new installer file for my Battle Academy game. Should I register the new serial? Or leave the original serial in place. Oh and kudos for the speed that support was ab...

Games Want or waiting to see it when it appears

I have two games that have defied the odds (that being still able to get my interest in a time when the LAST thing I need is yet another war game that never gets played), that being Tigers on the Hunt, and the slow and steady and not over hyped Strategic Command 3. Tigers on the Hunt mainly because ...

Re: Civ VI announced

I'm not one of the V haters, but, looking at it, the first thing that enters into my mind was "hmm looks like they took the console version and tried to use a rolling pin to make it into a PC version." Graphically, I'm not encouraged. But my Civ any version days might have ended 2 years ago. Lost th...

Re: WW2 Squad Battles from beginning to End...ala X-Com

I like the design of X-Com. I think as a specifically WW2 concept with no weirdness it might not be so bad.

I've seen plenty of games try to do this type of style/setting, and not always with any real success.

Re: No I'm not dead :)

Sooooo this Friday I have internet again. Not sure if it is a good idea. But the primary reason I dropped it was it wasn't stable and I had no way to discern if it was hardware which I couldn't afford to replace. So I'm hopping to shoot up some stuff in Battle Academy soon again (about the only game...

Don't call it burn out. It's not the real problem

I've read posts by you men over the years mentioning 'war gaming burn out'. I submit you are or were not actually suffering 'burn out'. You were possibly just having trouble getting excited by 'yet more of the same'. I've seen this in other parts of the gaming world. After all, how can you seriously...

Re: Steel Panthers MBT

I'll likely find a husband before Gary gets around to re inventing Steel Panthers :) Oh well, I was wrong about World in Flames, they actually finally put it on sale. Not saying I'm in love with it totally though. I don't want a game called Steel Panthers and yet really not the same thing. I want so...

Re: Squad Leader!

Making ASL run on a computer would only be twice as hard as the effort devoted to World in Flames. Now excuse me while I laugh my head off :) Pity, I wouldn't mind it being possible. I sold my real ASL after I finally got tired of lying to myself that an ftf opponent would show up some day. I even t...

No I'm not dead :)

Greetings forum crowd. No I am not dead :) Life though sure has tried to make me wish I was. But oh well you don't want to listen to an old women complain. I've been away from wargaming since hmm I can't even recall now. It's not that I'm returning, but, Battle Academy still gets me interested. Now ...

Re: The move to Mobile (pads) is dissapointing

Well A. my laptop is a PC, and B, my tablets are as powerful as a PC, so really the notion that a game has to be inferior to be put on a tablet, is just PC nonsense. Anything and I DO mean anything your PC can do, my tablet can do as well. And yes, that includes run War in the East. And should I wis...

Re: Frontline: The Longest Day is out now!

Just chiming in to say I have the Android version as well as the PC. Bought the PC accidentally :) I would not say there is anything overly wrong about the game. This is a game meant for tablet, and just happens to be possible on PC as well. But it's the sort of game you choose when you want to kill...

Re: Installing observation for Storm of Steel

I tried to like Combat Mission, but the camera controls just bug me. I sometimes thing some guys are just too into 3d for their own good :) I have not tried the new engine though, and won't be, as their form of elicence is a game killer for me. Tried the Touch release. I was a bit annoyed when it be...
