Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

One can also see Geffalrus is sending you gold from his screenshots. That confused me initially too....I put that to the Antigonids and they denied sending money...... The screenshot actually says "Antigonus of the Seleucids" sent the money. If I remember correctly the Seleucids are now being ruled...

Multiplayer lobby issue

This is not a huge deal killer with me as yet, as I am still caught up in the single player campaign, but I get this message every time I try to check out multiplayer:

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

The Indus is back in Macedonian hands, just as Alexander intended. It takes quite a while for the sun to set on the Seleucid Empire....... 20190910163713_1.jpg The SEL-SAK border is in a pretty good place, IMO, right on the edge of the dreaded steppes. The only thing that remains to be seen is whet...

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

Sounds reasonable, and since Judea is on board, great. The province is nice, but the Temple more important I'd say.

I'll probably need to do the heavy lifting here next, and direct my army to take down the ARA doomstack. So I will plot accordingly ...

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

If peace offers are on the way from Ptolemy already, well, that’s good news, we are most of the way towards a resolution.

I gather then the only remaining sticking point is Jerusalem. I can sympathize with the Judean position, a Judea without the Temple isn’t quite Judea.

Re: Temple of Solomon...How do you upgrade it?

The upgrades are Tier III Culture structures, so you do also need 6 purple buildings present; ie, the Temple, capital, your Synagogue and 3 other Culture structures.

Btw I often find that I cannot abandon a region conquered on the previous turn. Is there something I'm missing? Some precondition I haven't met?
The only preconditions are that the region must be under 50 Loyalty, and you need an army to trigger it, and plot to move out on the same turn.

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

War update: Arabia has been a busy little beaver this turn, taking both Galillea and Samaria, while Ptolemy stormed Jerusalem. Oh, and some strange men painted in blue who call themselves Picts unsuccessfully raided Gallilea from the sea: Capture.JPG Because Arabia now holds much of the disputed ter...

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

Also, perhaps further Judean compensation could come from Arabian territories. Arabia has become an overly huge blob which likes to raid people indiscriminately, and frankly I would prefer Judea as a southern neighbor.

Admittedly I'm an overly huge blog myself, but at least we don't raid.

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

I must confess the cessation of Sinai seems excessive, especially as the metal deposits there are vital and irreplaceable for Egypt. In fact I'm a bit surprised those mines have remained independent and hence unusable by anyone thus far. The Antigonid proposal seems reasonable to me as a basis for d...

Well a Seleucid total conquest of both Judea and Egypt would achieve the latter aim...... :(

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

The Saka continue to resist despite being hammered by attacks from both the Seleucids and the Antigonids and a large Judean pirate fleet is sunk by the Egyptian navy off the Levant. Saka has requested peace, and we are unhurriedly considering our response. I can’t speak for the Antigonids, but If t...

Egypt thanks the Seleucids for the "clarification" .

What exactly do the Seleucids see as "redressing the balance of power ?"
Seeking a peace that makes both Judea and Egypt happy. Or, at the very least, equally unhappy.

Re: Arranging MP Game....Interested ?

So the Seleucids have decided to declare war on Arabia and Egypt and her ally Carthage and ally with Judea. I only declared war on Arabia, which lead to Egypt DOWing me as as an ally. Only. As far as I know I’m at peace with Carthage and other Egyptian allies due to the no-chain-alliance-DOW rule. ...

Re: Field of Diplomacy - Calling Players for an MP game

Some thoughts on the Seleucids/Bactria: 1) According to Wikipedia, Bactria was a Seleucid satrapy until 245 BC (or so) when it declared independence. So perhaps it shouldn't even be a starting country? But rather a late arriving country like Galatians and Parthia? As has been noted, it is very diffi...

And in case anyone is wondering what I've been up to, today I learned conquering the eastern map edge does not give one the degree of security one would normally expect:
