Re: On idea on how to bring back population controls.

If you use the "Raze City" function the population DOES migrate to other cities... or that is what it claims to do. Hover over it in game to read the description.

Re: TONS of Feedback and suggestions (Oct. 14)

Humans have built LOTS of roads in places you could not take a vehicle initially. Pike's Peak is just one and it's a regular racing event.

Re: TONS of Feedback and suggestions (Oct. 14)

One choice game I had started me near a Observatory... as Togra... so needless to say I had extremely low research times and was able to easily outpace the AI, research times were often 1 turn on most of the bypassed techs, never over 4 turns to research anything. Compare that to my most recent atte...

Re: A simple suggestion to add depth to the late game.

I also agree with the Fungi being +1 pollution. It's TOXIC! It takes 3-5 years in game of even being able to REMOVE the stuff safely.

Maybe one of the later advances reduces that to a neutral pollution factor, still leaving the player to balance the benefits of fungi vs pollution control.

Re: How to declare war/attack enemy factions?

I don't recall EVER having declared war... either someone declared it on me of their own accord, or I hit one of their cities with an orbital bombardment and they declare war on me for that. Now that being said you will actually have to contact the folks you want to war with to find the various opti...

Some observations on v 0.24.x

Pherapod mechanics seem to work well for this moment. Still having a few issues with map generation putting an occasional resource out of reach of any cities. Not a big deal... but my sad mind has to do all of the math to see if I can... A small pathing issue I have identified. Moving from water to ...

Re: First Impressions

However, if I'm limited to 1 worker on minerals, how do I raise the limit? A starting city has 7 hexes and one worker. Each of the hexes has a resource value... for example a forest has 1 food, and 1 mineral. If your city has 3 mineral producing hexs you will be shown in the city management screen ...

Re: Version 0.24.0 Released

I can do this Operation without declaring war?!? Not sure about currently, but before I could orbital bombard someone I had a non aggression pact with... they of course immediately declared war on me, so there WERE repercussions. I only did it to instigate war of course... not for amusement. Before...

Re: Version 0.24.0 Released

Non aggression pact now lasts 5 additional turns after termination. Curious to see how this works with the orbital bombardment... my preferred method of declaring war. Xenomorph Pheropod is now discovered by killing any xenomorph instead of from ruins. Sounds like a fine solution. Only show yield o...

Re: Regenerate Map

On the Tundra/ desert start off I agree... it's a pain. But really that needs to be addressed unto itself more than adding the reconfigure button. The button might complicate the issue by providing a workaround that helps us ignore the issue. I'm not even opposed to the button as much as don't see t...

Re: Regenerate Map

Ok, so coding a button that does the same thing that one does sans movies is better because it saves how much time? This isn't something you should have to do very often in a game... eventually the algorithms that determine starting position will be refined and you have to do it even less. Just seem...

Re: Crash 0.22 (and thoughts)

p.p.p.p.s. It would be nice if re-fit units were automatically renamed to the unit that it was refitted into. This is a reoccurring issue for me. Let examine a recent scenario. Stack of 5 snipers just lost their defensive unit, and they need to be upgraded to the new device I have discovered... so ...

Re: Terra Salvum v.0.22.x

Because the game mechanics currently do not allow for us to produce aliens... Hives produce them and we capture them. After 3 or 4 years all of the hives are gone and no more aliens to capture. What you are suggesting might be accomplished by a "build a hive" type of field operation. An interesting ...

Re: Terra Salvum v.0.22.x

It wouldn't do any good to appear late in the tech tree... Hives and Native lifeforms are dead 3-5 years into the game. No bringing them back after they are gone.

Re: Terra Salvum v.0.22.x

Again, best solution I could come up with was for each life form controlled you would build a unit with a pherapod and pay upkeep on that unit. They "merge" and are always together until destroyed. This also compensated for the limited lifespan of aliens (dying after some period of captivity) and fr...

Re: Some More Thoughts

I'm not sure about research being too fast... but there is something like that. Games are usually decided by the time folks are getting into the Mech age... Games lasting longer are drug out for some reason other than conquest. Research IS fast, I acknowledge the issue of unit models being upgraded ...

My mind boggles with it on the military victory conditions as well. I understand it... but every time I see it I have to reprocess it.
