Obviously there'll always be a subjective element to lists and I'm always intrigued by people's views on them. As far as I know, the Janissaries made up a pretty small part of what was essentially a cavalry army. I'm also not aware of them having slinger or crossbow units per se.

As I understand it the Janissary ortas were adopting firearms from the 1440s onward.

Ottoman List

Interesting. This is more enquiry than gripe: What evidence is there for Janissary light foot slingers and handgunners? I expected an option for a Janissary Medium Foot BG with handgun and swordsmen. I also wondered if there'd be a small BG option for solak/guard Janissary to be available if the Sul...

Yes, undoubtedly the crossbow formed the majority of missile capability, however, the Hussites were revolutionary in their large use of handguns and I was just not sure this was adequately reflected.

Hussite Handgunners

I'm enjoying reading through "Eternal Empire" but have a couple of queries. Here's one.
Other than as decoration for warwagon stands, there's not really a role for handgunners in a Hussite force, just wondered why this was?

They don't. They autobreak when they have lost more than 50%. However, if in a BG of 2, they are removed from play at the end of the JAP if reduced to 1 base. As they only have a BG of 2 the % loss they can take is irrelevant as any lost base removes them. The cost of 26/base seemed a little high i...

Sorry, I tried to cancel the post as I realised that Superior in fact autobreak at 50%
Besides mis-posting I'm also the kind of fool who'd include pretty troops in an army anyway.....

WotR Royal Guard

I may have got this wrong, so please forgive me but... outside of an historical scenario why would anyone have Royal Guard MaA in their army? I ask because due to the BG size (2) they effectively autobreak at 50% losses, though Superior is normally 60%. Seems a lot of extra points for little return.
