Re: Da Orks - Check the new screenshots!

I'm late to the party, but I'm enjoying the iOS version of the game. Now the Space Marines are arriving and their pesky Dreadnoughts are as durable as they were when I was the one using them. Thank Mork for the superheavies I've been getting as gifts. Is it supposed to be possible to rescue Gazghkhu...

Re: Secondary objectives Angels of Death

Having trouble achieving the second mission bonus objective: "Mission 02 - Do not let any imperial victory hex fall. Reward - Wyvern." I can't break through the Ork horde in the middle quick enough to save the NE hex from being overrun. Any suggested strategies? Take your time with the ho...

Re: What is with the loss of unit strengths and loss of poin

That's a known bug. All difficulties higher than normal will give you no additional points apart from what you have in the first mission. Yes, that's unplayable. I too made it to the Tartarus defense on challenging before it was posted in the forums here. :x Just replay it on normal (everything wor...

Re: Best Bang for the Buck Question

In acts II and III, space marine infantry were pretty effective for me as long as I held them back and only used them on softened targets (with no enemy tanks/artillery nearby) unless they were in city spaces. In cities I didn't have to be as careful because of the defensive bonuses. But I couldn't ...

Re: 1st impressions of Ipad version

I’m really liking it. It’s challenging, and my unfamiliarity with the period is getting me killed. The early 30 Years War battle where you’re defending on a hill – what should I be doing? I can’t find a way to use those Hussars, nor can I deal with enemy Tercios. What’s the right way to take advanta...

Re: Help with Central Powers?

Capital ships along the coast can supply adjacent units. But it's difficult to get invasions to work. You need that country to be close to folding already and/or out of money. At least with the UK it's possible. If you have to invade the US and they're defending their territory it's impossible. By t...

Re: Help with Central Powers?

You should be fine now that you don’t need many units in Western Europe – achieving that much by late 1915 is pretty fast. I’m usually unable to make a breakthrough in the west until the Ottomans start drawing Russian units to the Caucuses. That lets Germany ease up on the Eastern Front and slowly f...

Invading the US

I need advice – I have a game that’s gone quite well as the Central Powers. It’s late 1916 and the Entente has been knocked out with the exception of the US. They only ever sent one garrison unit to France, so the East Coast is swarming with infantry. They don’t have a navy anymore, but I don’t thin...

Re: Scotland referendum

Erm, I believe that it is against the law for the BBC to even comment on exit polls before the voting ended, so running one was probably out of the question. Not a money thing, just a law thing... You can run an exit poll, you just can't report on its results until polls close. Anyway, best of luck...

The news can't even tell us (by law) what their informal polling says until polls close at 10pm.

Re: Scotland referendum

I wish you all luck. I can’t help but be interested in it because of my background – Spanish (Valencian) on one side, Taiwanese on the other. Valencia speaks a dialect of Catalan and some Valencians would have us join Catalunya in its push for independence, but it’s a minority. I’m not in that group...

Re: When will France surrender

I experienced the same thing. With Serbia I thought it was understandable: small territory, lots of partisan activity, and their last city was a capital (starred) city. With France it was a little strange. I could understanding needing to conquer Bordeaux, but when they still kept fighting it didn't...

Re: My Experience: Was the Game Designer Serbian?

I don’t know, if you consider the Serbian militias, who were quite experienced and effective after the Balkan Wars, it’s easy to argue that their manpower reserves should be proportionally higher than those of A-H and Germany. They held off Austria-Hungary until October 1915, after all.

Re: My Experience: Was the Game Designer Serbian?

That sounds promising! What was the point of Gallipoli in real life? To open the Dardanelles to make trade with Russia possible? If so, give Russia merchant convoys (representing trade with Britain and France, not colonies). If the Entente doesn’t force the strait, Russia won’t get those resources. ...

Re: My Experience: Was the Game Designer Serbian?

I think the real-life Austro-Hungarian army struggled in Serbia until they got German help. But Germany was able to help because of early successes against Russia, which seems impossible in this game. To me, the quality of the Russian units are a bigger issue than the size of the Serbian army. The a...

Kirk, wasn't that already the case? They didn't seem to start at the same level… though the differences weren't that great. I assume you're increasing them? Sounds good to me!

Re: Frustration with UI on iPad

As long as we're talking about the iPad: Is there a way of checking a general/admiral/pilot's stats before placing him? Not just when you get one at the beginning of a turn, but also when they're recovering from "injury". What's the intended way to cancel placing a new unit? I click on the...

Re: Can a Russia-first strategy work?

Good points all. I wanted to try Russia-First because when I did it the other way around I really struggled to defend Germany’s eastern cities. I suppose that’s what I need to learn to do, more than actually trying to knock Russia out. I can’t maintain a long front in the west and keep Russia at bay...

Re: Less Tech for some factions?

I don’t see the need for a limit; none of the infantry tech developments are industrially intensive. All I’d like to see is a greater disparity between infantry starting tech levels. At the beginning of the war, German units should be quite a bit better than Russian units, and (arguably) just a notc...
