Re: Questions and Opinions About FOG Empires
For a start you can't export multiplayer battles into FOG2. Arguably, exporting single player battles is tantamount to pressing the 'I Win' button (largely because exported battles don't also represent complexities of terrain - every battle map has ample room for manoeuvre).

Re: Is this right?
But, oh well, how do I put this nicely? If this is know since January, then why hasn't this been patched? I've fairly recently raised this issue of mega-indie factions (that only fight you, not each other) with regard to the semi-related issue of double/triple-dip succession wars as a Tribe/Horde. ...

Re: Negotiating peace for all the alliance?
Could this not be fudged in some way, in that when the 'biggest' nation (the nations with the highest Legacy, perhaps - or some other on-the-fly metric) in a war declares peace with another nation then the war ends for all other nations as well? Perhaps peace for such a cessation is only enforceable...

Re: What does a MILITARY EXPERTISE bonus do?
I would disagree with the two previous posters, as it has a critical influence on the combats in empires... Disagree. It has a trivial influence over General quality; the kind of influence that is far more efficiently obtained elsewhere. Concentrating on ME is a newbie trap and as such should be la...

Re: What does a MILITARY EXPERTISE bonus do?
IMO ME isn't worth aiming for. If it's below 1 then it's a second-rate concern; once above 1 it becomes, at best, a third-rate concern.

Re: Regional Decision: Prospecting?
Is this pure RNG? Or predestined, meaning if I fail to turn up anything valuable in Latium, I NEVER will? Thanks. No that's not fixed, you can get extra natural resources, but with diminishing chances if you have more than one already, and never more than 3 IIRC. What's the base chance of success? ...

River avoidance?
Not sure why tho as rivers aren't that much of a thing in this game.

Re: Isn't constantly relinquishing objectives tedius?
Objectives that sit on t'other side of the known world - yes, no point in the game generating such objectives.
Other kinds of objectives would be nice: diplo; economy; military; trade, etc.

In PDS games a +3% modifier constitutes 'regional flavour'. It's that kind of thinking that sank I:R.

Re: Revolt, After Revolt...
Surt, Thanks for the reference. I've given it a read and there doesn't appear to be anything that I'm unfamiliar with in this regard. The issue, I'd say, isn't that revolts happen in the first instance. As it happens, even tho this isn't among the most complicated of GSG games (that's not bad thing,...

...after revolt, after revolt, after revolt, after revolt, after revolt (ad infinitum). I've tried to give this game a jolly good crack of the whip but the interminable spiral of revolt following leader death following revolt is wearing me down. :( Death spirals come about absolutely randomly. All i...

Re: Unescorted Persian army sunk
It was improved several months ago. Then for the DLC, I checked and it seemed the AI built too many ships, so I toned that down some. Perhaps it was not a wise move. There is anyway room for improvement on how the escorts are used, definitively. From what I can see the AI has enough warships; they ...

Re: Major temple
I see this kind of thing occurring quite a lot in the game - displaying the modified value instead of the base. It can get super-confusing (above being one example), not the least of which because this approach pre-supposes that you know what the base value was. Would it not be better to show the ad...

I've tried to figure out how much it costs you to build these traded units - starting unit cost, current unit cost, some sort of % reduced cost... God only knows, really. It's hard to figure it out _just_ by watching how your Gold changes from one turn to the next.

Re: Is it possible to disregard regional decisions?
After a while you end up with a list of RDs mostly consisting of ones you don't want simply by virtue of unwanted RDs not being removable. I'm currently sitting on a pile of Improve Port RDs and I can't get rid of any of them.
