Re: Use of fighter plane tutorial tip - spread out attacks?

Agree with Hubbfrosch. Do not forget to factor in AA units (both friendly and hostile) Unlike aircraft, AA will inflict a fixed amount of damage and so can be more more effective in delivering a killing blow. That said, if trying to conserve your fighters it may be better to first weaken the enemy w...

Re: The Russian Campaign 1941 / The West Campaign 1940 (and other battles) - All Multiplayer

Have been trying to hold Karis' Hitlerite horde for three months now and enjoying immensely (exc: the gazillion Luftwaffe air strikes I have to endure each turn) One seeming bug is that while the Poles get some RPs (+800 after I held Leningrad) they don't ever seem to get CPs nor can reconstitute lo...

Re: DLCs and Multiplayer

This is the greatest drawback for OOB IMO. AI has made strides but there is still nothing like going up against one of the top-ranked humanoids either 1:1 or 2:2. Alas almost all the PBEM scenarios are designed by other players (Erik's scenarios are among the best!)

I noticed a couple of your new scenarios in the Community Crate. Coincidence I am sure :-)

once again congratulations AdmiralYamamoto I really hate you

Netballman, I'll have to investigate this further, do you remember how many turns you'd played and what your score was before we nerfed you?

Re: Version 10 release tournament

Totally agree--95% of my OOB time has been in MP which is way more challenging. (when the AI starts to actually play well I may begin to actually believe all the hype around AI) It is unfortunate that the campaigns are only against the AI...really wish there were MP versions. :-\ My opponent doesn't...

Re: The Russian Campaign 1941 / The West Campaign 1940 (and other battles) - All Multiplayer

My affection for OOB is undiminished even as I must admit I am looking forward to dating HQS WWII when she finally makes an appearance. I have been largely consumed with a couple very intense games games of Market-Garden with the Admiral including helping Erik playtest an updated 2v2 version. Then t...

Re: Version 10 release tournament

Despite their warts open tournaments are probably the best way to recruit new players. Also still hoping for 2v2 team tournament… Celeborn: There is no foolproof solution to what is essentially the problem of human folly but I think invitational tournaments are the only reliable way to minimize thes...

Re: Version 10 release tournament

In May I went to a 4 day week (despite a 20% cut);and it was absolutely worth it. Barring financial problems I will likely drop another 20% in the Spring. :-) I understand now rth. Yes, I review the map very carefully and plan out a lot of things before I move a single unit. I am working on going to...

Re: Version 10 release tournament

So my first round opponent was a no-show. It is not the first time it has happened and it will not be the last. I know it is also frustrating when you don't get a chance to finish, esp if about to take an HQ at the end. There is no foolproof solution to what is essentially the problem of human folly...

Re: Erik's Multiplayer scenarios

I love that idea. I don't want to do anything to jeopardize the historical flavor but just want some modest ability to customize. The ability to repurchase lost units would also address the problem I had in a recently concluded game where the Luftwaffe units were wiped out around turn 30 and so all ...

Re: Erik's Multiplayer scenarios

Have been meaning for some time to solicit thoughts on the use of a fixed OB vice allowing some degree of purchasing/deploying units. What reminded me to ask was my review yesterday of German "special abilities" in M-G 1v1 where I again noticed that a couple of them were only meaningful if...

good catch...all you needed to do was look at the previous photo of the nearly identical US 57mm
