Re: Thoughts on Field of Glory: Empires?

Praise indeed from you Vaalen. I must try again with this game - but my poor old eyesight trying to read the micro-fiche text :) I have also had problems reading the tiny text, but I found solutions. Are you familiar with Windows magnifer? If not, I suggest that you learn about using it. It is a pa...

Re: Playing Armenia is great fun, and very different

You guys should try Kolchis. Where Armenia has 3 missions, Kolchis has ... 8 ! I went a bit nuts with them admittedly   Okay, Kolchis will be my next game. I am not sure what kind of army will work for them, though they will have Kolchian archers, but how can I resist a nation with eight...

Re: Playing Armenia is great fun, and very different

I am going to try your army mix in my MP game to see how it fares. I would be very interesting to see how that turns out. I had to modify things a bit when I finally had a war with one of the giants...Macedon. The Macedonians attacked with huge armies, and the skirmishers and light cavalry on the f...

What ever happened to the Art of Siege regional decision? I haven't seen one since the last update.
That is a mystery to me. I have the latest patch, and I am still getting them. In fact, I got one of them in each of the last two turns. And I am at peace.

Re: Elephants.

I've haven't been a fan of using them, spend money and then watch them die. Perhaps I don't know how to use them properly. The latest patch has made some changes to them. Are they more worthwhile to use now? Thanks for any opinions about elephants. I think they are more worthwhile now. I had given ...

Re: Playing Armenia is great fun, and very different

I am playing Armenia in a 4-player MP game and I am having fun as be successor neighbours are tied up with wars. I have also been able to come in third with Armenia in solitaire play under an AI difficulty level of very hard. It was the first nation that I have played with missions, which adds a lo...

Re: Playing Armenia is great fun, and very different

Vaalen, how do you take walled cities when your armies don't have any regular infantry besiegers? Very good question, but I found ways to do it. Strangely enough, it has not been a problem. Most of the cities in the area near Armenia either have no fortifications,k or are only level one. I have bee...

Re: Playing Armenia is great fun, and very different

It certainly does help a lot. The game I was playing as Armenia was going well for me then I got the Greater Armenia Mission. It looked impossible to accomplish so I quit. Do you know what happens if you don't accomplish it? Also, do you still build walls or just the Levy Camps? If you do not compl...

Re: Playing Armenia is great fun, and very different

Did you find the Levy Camp useful? On the surface it doesn't seem to be something to use. Thanks. Yes, I build them quite frequently. In the early part of the game, when you are short of money and manpower, the free skirmishers they provide are quite welcome. The two manpower they provide does not ...

Playing Armenia is great fun, and very different

If you are looking for a new nation to play, I recommend Armenia in the original campaign scenario. I have the DLC, and the regional decisions add a lot to playing Armenia. Playing a mountain nation is quite different, and the armies I have formed are quite different from any others I have used. You...

Re: Thoughts on Field of Glory: Empires?

I bought this game as soon as it came out, and have played it regularly ever since. I did the same with the DLC. If I could have only one game, of all the hundreds I have played, this would be my choice, no question. The game was great on release, but has become much better and even easier to play w...

How do you implement regional decisions?

Regional decisions have been introduced with the expansion and the patch. They are very interesting, but I do not know how to implement them. I have found the icon next to the end turn circle, clicked on it, and been presented with a list of regional decisions. I have clicked on a decision, and ther...

Re: How do you absorb a fully conquered nation?

Thank you, Grey Fox. That is most helpful. In my case, their last army, two skirmishers and a mercenary infantry, invaded my province of Boetia, from somewhere and attacked. They were defeated by the garrison, losing one unit, and retreated into Athenian Attica, which was being besieged by my main a...

How do you absorb a fully conquered nation?

I have started a game as Macedon. I conquered both regions of Aetolia, including the cities. As far as I can tell, they have nothing left, though a small force maybe hiding somewhere, as it just disappeared. I won two major battles against them. My warscore is at 28. I have sent them a peace offer, ...

Re: FoG Empires: Judean Zealots

Judea is a difficult nation, but you'll feel all fuzzy in the inside if you manage to finally expand and develop the temple and your main city :D That is absolutely true. I have done it, and it is one of the most enjoyable accomplishments of my long career as a gamer. Now i actually lead in legacy ...

Re: FoG Empires: Judean Zealots

Hi, yes I do have a synagogue in my Capital city with the Zealot barracks, in addition in Jerusalem I have Solomons Temple and in another region in my Capital province I have the training ground. I think I have all the boxes ticked, but looking closer I found that I am still only at civ lvl 1 and I...

Re: FoG Empires: Judean Zealots

Do you have a synagogue in Judea? I recall that I needed to have one in order to recruit Zealots in the province of Judea, which is the only province n which I have been able to recruit them. I respectfully disagree that Zealots are lousy units. They are excellent in arid terrain, and most of the re...
