Re: Ideas for the future of SPM

This thread has really filled with many excellent ideas! The trajectory through game #2 will probably be determined by the developer's intentions for game #3. If Game 2 was intended to be the last one, then I can think of a lot of cool ways to balance things such that there is no real wrong way to p...

Re: Ideas for the future of SPM

There are already some pretty spectacular ideas in this thread, but I needed to add my two cents after you mentioned "Project Space Station", the game that defined my childhood. :) In terms of adding multiplayer competition, I have a few suggestions. Players should be competing for revenue sources (...

Gemini EOR & Saturn C3

So, I ran through the whole campaign, aiming for the Gemini EOR mission type, and found it very enjoyable. Given that it was just added within the last few days, I was also pleased by the amount of artwork that was available. I didn't make use of the Saturn C3, as it doesn't currently offer any adva...

Re: Circumlunar Gemini with Transtage

I see what you did there, so I can see the Lunar manned mission has been fixed, but the manned test mission in earth orbit was not corrected. There should probably also be some penalties in the lunar missions for skipping the earth orbit missions. I understand this is an optional program many people...

Re: Circumlunar Gemini with Transtage

I just updated to the new version, 0.8.5 and the Trans-stage launch still calls for LEO_HR hardware. Perhaps the change didn't make the update?

I found this to happen both in my existing save, and in a new game I created.

Re: Circumlunar Gemini with Transtage

Thank you very much! I know it may not matter for many of the current missions, but were you planning on updating the Saturn C3 payloads to be closer to the low earth orbit and translunar masses as listed on Astronautix (LEO 36.3T , TLI 13.6T), or were you pulling the values from a different source?...

Re: Circumlunar Gemini with Transtage

I imagine this flight being an EOR, much like an Atlas Agena docking, but with a much larger unmanned partner in the Tran-stage. I picture this being accomplished with a Titan 3C launch for the Trans-stage and a Titan 2 launch for the Gemini pod. However, the game requires a man rated launcher for t...

Circumlunar Gemini with Transtage

In the uncrewed earth orbit variant of the "Circumlunar Gemini with Transtage" missions, both components appear to be launched together, which is accomplish-able using a Titan 3C. However, in the manned earth orbit variant, it appears to be a dual launch mission. So, the transtage is launched (unman...

Thanks! I pride myself on excellence. To be fair, in the past few patches, you made it a -lot- harder for me to find mistakes.

A new patch already? You spoil me!

Re: [BUG] Korabl-Sputnik 2

Ran into the same bug, whenever I try to book the Soyuz - Soyuz Automated docking mission, no matter which rocket I try. Save Game.zip The screen for selecting mission controllers is messed up as well. Heck, any mission I try to plan involving the N1 in that save (ie, Manned Lunar flights) exhibit t...

Re: Suggestion/Questions: Zond / 7K L1 hardware

Oh, wow. And I just noticed that because the Zond 5 is a bit heavier than the manned flyby will be (shouldn't 2 men + supplies be heavier than turtles?) I cannot launch the Zond 5 using the man rated Proton??

Suggestion/Questions: Zond / 7K L1 hardware

Last time I played with the Soviet hardware, there was little to no incentive to make use of the full range of Soviet Sovuz hardware, but that was many many updates ago. I see things have definitely changed on that front, but there are still some strange things going on with this hardware. Earlier, ...

[Bug] Voshod Duration IV Mission

The Voskhod Duration IV mission remarks that it is levelling a penalty because I have not completed Duration IV yet.

I have completed duration I and II using Vostok, so I am skipping Duration III and should be punished for that.

Re: [BUG] Korabl-Sputnik 2

I had the same thing occur before updating to the new build. I forgot where the saves were stored, and when I came to the forum to look for that info I found that there was a new build, so I downloaded that instead. On the new build, I did not run into that error. I found a bit of strangeness still ...

Re: Failures on a mission step

The more simple (non-BARIS) failure more used by Buzz Aldrin Space Program Manager is a little limitting, but seems very functional and ultimately makes it easier to add more missions and programs to the game. Any new mission added represents a linear flow chart added, which is much more manageable ...

Re: Space Stations?

I am quite excited for the space stations. NASA had plans for wet workshop Saturn second stage, Saturn third stage, and obviously the Skylab(s)! There were even plans (and one test flight) of the Manned Orbiting Lab with Gemini hardware. In theory, stations could be placed in low earth orbit (LEO), ...

Re: [Suggestion] Family Tech Tree?

I feel they are already trying to do that with the "Initial Reliability" increases as earlier rockets are improved. I would say that very related rockets should produce greater synergies in later rockets. On the Soviet side, the R7 rockets are quite related, some more-so than others. Currently the m...

Re: Apollo - F/G/H penalty issues

Thanks for the quick clarification, on the weekend no less! I was also wondering if there was an alternate way of satisfying the Rendezvous requirement. The current game structure does not (or not clearly) allow for a partial mission success. Historically, the Gemini rendezvous'd with the Agena many...
