Re: Language specific letters

Confirmed that accented characters obtained through alt gr don't work. (e.g alt gr +a to get á)

Re: RC Feedback

Hi Iain, if you check my posting history you will see that I've been quite vocal pointing out the ways the game differs from the tabletop (particularly when it comes to dedicated anti tank weapons not being very good in the game). However, at this late stage it seems to me that you want us to focus ...

Re: The Bug Thread

Not sure if this is working as intended or not but aircraft have their los blocked by 100% blocking terrain, even though they should be able to see over it (titans are probably affected in the same way).

Re: Scenario Obedience to Orders - victory conditions

I'm not sure I agree with the rationale here. If the mission objective says "don't move your troops near the victory hex" and I do, and then strong orks table my forces, I'm going to think "awesome! there's actually a reason to follow orders". If I'm able to ignore the titan and ...

RC Feedback

The Good The presentation in the RC has definitely been raised a couple of notches. The voiceover and improved font really help the briefings, and the new dialogs for in-game messages look the part. The new firing and damage animations are great, too. The Bugs Actually didn't really spot too many b...

Re: Vadersson's Data Mine Thread

Also for consideration:
  • Increase spotting distance by a couple of hexes
  • Implement an accuracy penalty for shooting after moving (more movement = less accurate)

Re: Vadersson's Data Mine Thread

To be honest, I'm not sure what I'm suggesting as it may require an overhaul of some basic mechanics (i.e. morale, retaliation) to make it work. My feedback to you is that the armies in the game do not play like the same army does on the tabletop (or in the written fluff about the universe). Part of...

Re: being nosey now

The Intro movie plays correctly for me so if you're not seeing it everytime you load the game then that sounds like a bug.

Re: Vadersson's Data Mine Thread

You realise that that (Orks tabling Guard in close combat) is pretty much the basis of the tabletop game and the lore around the universe, right? The game is balanced on the basis that Guard are balanced through using superior firepower to bleed the Ork formations *before* they get close enough to a...

Re: Ai shortcomings

Hmm, I was hoping that somewhere in the options screen that we can't access yet there was going to be an AI difficulty slider. The game is too easy right now because the AI is incapable of attacking or defending effectively and doesn't build the right troops to counter my army. Also, the Orks don't ...

Re: Thoughts on Morale

There's morale in the game??? Seriously. Sure, I've seen the coloured bar, but the game is so easy that I'm yet to actually see any effect on the unit that has poor morale. This really needs explaining in game and if you want morale to be an important thing it needs to do more than simply decrease e...

Re: Unit Balancing

Yes, Grav weapons wound on the value of the opposing unit's armour save. So against a unit of orks at salvo range you maybe roll 9 shots, hit on 3's for 6 hits, then wound on a 6 for a total of 1 dead Ork (probably costing next to no points in a unit of 30). Against a unit of heavily armoured orks w...

The great "Fix the dialogue" thread

Re: Unit Balancing

Re: Grav Centurions: this is one of the areas where they seem to have got the stats correct (at least compared to the tabletop game). Grav weapons are high RoF weapons designed for doing damage to heavily armoured targets. Where they should fail (and perhaps don't in this game) is against low armour...

Also, if that is a screenshot from the current build you should fix some typos:

Re: Beta 4 Feedback

That font is better because it suits the rest of the theme. However, those blocks of text are still incredibly difficult to read. I suggest loosening the letter spacing and line height, dividing the blocks into paragraphs and using weight to highlight the important clauses. Something like this: http...

Re: Beta 4 Feedback

Mission 4 - The AI is completely unable to deal with the mines. Once it had blasted a path through the minefield it continued to shoot at the remaining mines (that aren't shooting back) while ignoring my powerful units (that *are* shooting at them). Also, the AI throws its units at the defender piec...

I still don't like the font in the pre-battle dialogues. It looks out of place given that the rest of the typography is in serif text.

Beta 4 Feedback

Initial Impressions An intro! It's pretty decent, too - good job. Tutorial Mission 1 seems slightly harder, but it's still straightforward. Mortars being able to make retaliation fire still seems weird and makes them very powerful. Mission 2 went fine with no issues Mission 3 - I encountered an iss...

Re: epic Armageddon and Warhammer 40K Armageddon weapons

Part of the reason the ranges feel so odd is due to the huge distances that units are capable of moving each turn. Infantry on foot are looking at making a 36"+ move each turn (and then also being able to fire!). This will make most of the weapons feel homogeneous because you are not actually m...
