Re: Triarii has won Late Antiquity Division B!

Thanks both.
It was a great division and very competitive.
And a thought for Rex whom I owe a snifter or two for my great good fortune for both the map and the Limitati having sprinting shoes on in our game.

Re: Late Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .

Div B Triarii (kingdom of Soissons) vs Geffairus (Palmyra) 42-34 as night falls .. a draw. A great game very cagey to begin with. Then, after backwards and forwards from the Romans to avoid the worst of an arrow storm, the Cataphracts advanced - after a hard fight most Roman Limitati and all the Pal...

Re: Classical Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .

Div A

Triarii (Carthage in Africa) beats XLegione (Seleucid) 65-49.

Very hard fought epic across the whole map an excellent game.
Very tough luck on XLegione as the 60% mark was only passed on the very last turn after a fortuitous Carthagininan combat result and pursuit.

Re: Early Middle Ages: winners post your results here

Div A
Triarii (Dialami) vs Panther boy (Indian) 0-0

The Indians occupied a great big steep hill the Dialami occupied a great big wood. Er that is it.
Apart from inconclusive rushing about by LC after 20 moves we all went home.

(0-0)

Re: Themed Event re-structure for Season 6

I think this is a very good, practical solution Pete. Great idea. The second semi-final between Snuggles and I went to turn 23 and a 60-59 win to him. We would have been out of time anyway on a daily turn-round of one, at best two turns, in this particular epic but the tighter deadline was compounde...

Re: Late Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .

Division B Triarii - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD vs Morbio - Ptolemaic 55-30 BC. Evening falls and saves the Ptolomaic 50-31 - draw. A classic game that went all the way to turn 24. Ptolomaics sent out light troops supported by Cavalry as the Romans ground their way across the map they suffered a...

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

3-1 score - Here is a general question for opinions. Twice in this tournament I have missed out on a point by seeing opponents rallying in the last move take my score below the 50% needed to gain a point while my opponent gets over the line. The first was 53% shifting to 49% but otherwise well beate...

Re: Classical Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .

Division A Triarii - Carthaginian, Hannibal in Africa 202 BC beats harveylh - Ptolemaic 166-56 BC 52-25 A good game and much closer than score suggests. Ptolomaic occupied a hill and stayed there given huge expanse of rough ground in front. Cagey skirmisher conflict early on but Cartaginians drove b...

Re: Views on mechanics sought - any offers

Thanks Richard much appreciated. Are images visible now? Two more questions though:- a) Why could the Scutari alone move and rotate and the cavalry not they were all in the same combat? I used the Scutari in that following move. And b) If it was 'between turns' is that because Player B did not commi...

Dear all, Help needed in my learning to explain the inability to move two cavalty units. Sorry no screen shot but in the spirit of chess problems three representations of the synoptic situation. Player A Red and Player B Blue. Unit, state and facing. 1 start of Player B turn https://1drv.ms/u/s!AulW...

Div B

Triarii - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD beats XLegione - Hunnic Sabir 463-558 AD 48-22

The Romans plodded on across the map which had a large and convenient wood to pivot on until the Huns ran out of space.

A good game - thanks XLegione.

Div A Triarii - Dailami 928-1055 AD (Arab (Syria/Iraq) 1009-1150 AD allies) beats CheAhn - Byzantine 988-1041 AD (no allies) 62-48 An epic battle - the Dailami LC had made it very difficult for the much superior Byzantine right to get involved while the raw Byzantine left was seen off by veteran Dai...

Division B Triarii - Kingdom of Soissons 461-486 AD beats rexhurley - Numidian/Moorish 220-56 BC 45 - 11 I can only apologise to Rex for game this where if anything at all (and I really mean at all) could go wrong for the Numidians it did. It started with a really awful map for Numidians - a river r...

Re: Poll on player army choices restriction

Hi Pete, I remember LoEG (when my memory does not fail me) and the enforced list change worked fine. That said I do not think it is in anyway a necessary rule and I agree with Morbio; For those who have played a bit the required new list does not matter and for those who are new it might be off-putt...
