Re: SUGGESTION: Changes To Victory Conditions

There is already a “remove the head mode” in multiplayer. Sudden death when C-in-C dies. I don’t think it’s popular.

Re: Give the shieldwall unit some helmets like Dailami foot and make hirdsmen armoured?

Should the hemet design be nation specific or any nation can have 25% of the same helmet? Because many nations use the same shield wall unit.

Re: Archers too weak

Yes. shooting through gaps is a way to use the archers. Another way is to find some elevation. Back row archers are placed higher than melee foot in front of them. The game seems to have this design philosophy where the actual “shooting form the back” tactic is implemented through mixed units. Facti...

Re: Man count per unit

Historical battles and campaigns can have a scaling factor (designer’s choice) such that total man count in the battles mimic historical levels. This is done to keep unit count in check. Else we will have so many units to push around on the field if we kept to default man count.

Re: Archon Engine

Warhammer 40K Sanctus reach uses the same engine.

Archon is an evolution of Battle Academy Stub engine. Used by Battle Academy, Pike and Shot, Sengoku Jidai, Hell.

Re: Future DLC?

Ahaha. East Asia is nice, but I am afraid that all models would be new that it won't come true in near future. I bet next one be crusade DLC that we can utilize many models we already have in the new army lists. I don't know if 1000BC to 1000AD East Asia dlc would require more new units than WatG. ...

Re: A question about armies and historical tactics

How much do you think “on-the-fly” commanding was done during the ancient world? I thought it’s more like a case of “set-and-forget”.

Re: Two questions on capabilities, and one on tactics

For example if you line up like below: The green ones are raw troops and the red ones are elite troops. AA.png The you see your opponent concentrated their elite force or groups on your right and tries to break your right wing and your raw troops cannot hold that for sure. You can just turn every a...

Re: Two questions on capabilities, and one on tactics

1. Is that the Sparabara? It’s already considered in armour rating.

2. 50% swords though there are special cases (pls check the manual)

3. Romans swapping tactic is abstracted in their quality rating.

You can try to increase the width of the map but keep the points the same.
This can give you more maneuver space for the same army.
He’s talking about Epic Battles and historical behaviour.

Re: Fall back cohesion test conditions

Fake retreats were used pretty often by various horse nomad peoples with varying success. It was usually more about pulling and isolating a part of the enemy army to ambush rather than small scale tactical maneuver. I think lots of Chinese tales, including the romance of three kingdoms, told storie...
