Re: Field of Glory II: Medieval is coming soon

This fair enough but I hope we are still going to get one or more extra modules for FOG II to over the earlier BCE period back to the Sumerians ? Also hope these will not delayed too much be the release of the new always thought it was a pity that the original FOG never got round to the "Swifter Tha...

Lace Wars – The P&S successor game we almost already have

I recently been persuaded to play the Minden scenario for Pike & Shot (P&S) with my long term wargames partner, after we had also refought the same battle using the historical scenario in the JTS 7 Years War game. While I am a big fan of P&S to be honest I had been a bit sniffy about post 1700 scena...

The timeline leading to this was presented by the Historian Michael Wood at his lecture on Tory at the British Museum associated with their Trojan War exhalation on the 6th of December this dating has also been brought into by the Australian Hittite expert Trevor Bryce.

Re: How about new DLCS?

I want the middle ages as well but personally I am hoping for a move in the other direction perhaps all in one go, i.e. a large “Swifter Than Eagles” DLC lining things up for a “Chariots of War” DLC for Field Of Glory Empires. Bring on the Hittites, Mitanni, Mycenaeans and Trojans, after all we now ...

Re: Why no Tours/Poitiers?

Hi Pete Playing your scenario as the Franks and about to loose. In my scenario the flaking route between the Frankish rear area and the Arab camp was blocked off by impassable hexes. I had forgotten that this was not the case in your scenario and send a large Frankish force down it only to have the ...

Re: Thanks and book suggestions pls?

For an overview of the Hellenistic era a good starting point is “A History of the Greek World from 323 To 146 B.C” by M Cary. Published in 1972 but a good place to start and available on Amazon for not that much. Rather more pricy but really good in terms of empire strategic management generally (al...

Re: Why no Tours/Poitiers?

To be fair this is not so much a problem as an opportunity for scenario designers to use the editor to expand the number of what are lets face it really historical battles to fill in the gaps. The scenario design process for FOG II is more complex than FOG I so this will take more time (although Pau...

Re: So What about Multiplayer?

I wonder if first off it would be easier to play Empire battles in FG2 against another person of this was confined to hot seat games ?

Field of Glory : Great Invasions

I know that “Field of Glory Empires” is not even out yet but I think that its engine would be ideal for a remake of AGEOD “Great Invasions” game due quite some time ago and which does run on Windows 10. I love the time period but have never really got into playing it as I prefer my games to be turn ...

Re: So What about Multiplayer?

Perhaps 2 player exportable battles could be limited to situations where the relevant players main characters were with the respective armies. In terms of choice the option could either be limited to games in which only 2 players were taking part or where a option to allow them has been set and agre...

Re: Field of Glory II - The Wolves have arrived

Hi Richard
Thanks very much. These are really cool. It looks to me as if they would also be a better model to depict the elephants in the Sassanid army lists ?

The Road Ahead (going forward)

Hi All With the release of the Age of Belisarius module I wonder if we are a bit clearer about how the development of the game is going to unfold in future, at least to cover its forward evolution in time periods to cover the ground previously broken with FOGI and FOG1(U). Because it uses dynamic 3d...

Re: Field of Glory II: Immortal Fire announced!

This is really good news. Hopefully among the new models to be included with the module will be.

Howdahless elephant with Pikemen astride, Late Period Egyptian Infantry with oblong shield and spear, and 2 and 4 horsed Greek/Etruscan/Punic Chariots ?

Will buy on the day it comes out for sure.
