I am very tired of being told there are up dates and then not being able to download them without a lot of hassels and mess ups just as with the Allies update which I could never get to work and therefore had to quit playing in the tournements! I would prefer to avoid this. Is this because of a design intent of keeping some ambiguity - i.e. commanders don't know the exact quality of their own troops. The manual says that "100 POA difference is roughly equivalent to a 33% combat modifier." but FUNCTION ModifiedCloseCombatDamage multiplies POA by 16, not 33. Is there something I am missing? The tooltips report the combat factors on the basis of which square the chargers will be when the combat is resolved, not the one they are in before they charge.

Thanks Richard You could of course manually edit the export file for each battle, to change the generals' ratings. It would only take a few seconds. You would need to do it before hitting the Empires Battle button in FOG2. You will find the export file at: /Documents/My Games/FieldOfGloryEmpires/SA...

So if one downloads the Mercenary Mod, it only works by selecting the Module and then one selects either battles or campaigns? If that is the case then one can't use the Mercenary Mod and the TT Mod together, and none of the preexisting campaigns will work with either Mod? Same with the TT Mod Bann...

The engine LOS algorithm isn't perfect and will allow such shots.

The height units are arbitrary and do not represent any particular unit of height.

It is an issue with the way some streams meet some marshes which we have been unable to display correctly with the available tiles. It looks ugly but it is valid terrain - a stream draining into a small lake draining into a marsh. Fortunately it doesn’t happen very often.

The answer is: Non-light cavalry will always evade if charged in flank or rear.
