Re: Field of Glory: Empires
I found IR hard to get into, and a bit boring tbh. FOGE made a lot more sense a lot quicker for me. At this point, I am pretty burnt out on both.

How to get a client state
550BCE campaign, I am Athens and asked to get Lydia as a client state for a mission with extra legacy. It suggests that at least the capital has to be held. So I take the capital with my army. I am now at a loss of how to turn them into a client state? Liberate doesn't work, they become a client sta...

Re: Persia - playing as Rhodes - quite slow
If you want to speed up thing, forget maintaining a standing army of appreciable size for many turns. What you should do is alternate between a cheap army, used only for defense, and a relatively powerful mercenary army, for offense and expansion. You can and should 'burst-recruit' mercenaries when...

Re: Persia - playing as Rhodes - quite slow
I have played Rhodus in the original campaign and had no problem. The Persia campaign is a whole different kettle of fish in my experience.Gray Fox wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 2:57 pm This AAR is not from the Persia DLC, but may be of some help.

Persia - playing as Rhodes - quite slow
Not a complaint but a note. Playing as Rhodes, it is extremely slow to build up to the point where you can challenge almost anyone. Not saying this is wrong, but apart from building up some colonies, just can't get the pops and resources to build an army to take out even Crete. 100+ turns so far, an...

Thanks. I also had problems with this. R key then select the region.
I used prospecting to discover a new mineral vein in my region. I am just not sure what effect this has? I cannot see any change to the buildings or other factors in the region.

Re: Buy Persian expansion on here and apply to Steam?
You can. I just did. You purchase through the normal Matrix / Slitherine store, then go to your 'my page', on the product panel for your game there is a button 'get your steam key'. Take that key and go to Steam, Games menu, activate a product on steam, copy it in, voila.

Re: Archers vs Skirmishers
The point of skirmishers was to have the enemy disperse his arrows and javelins on the ground that you occupy (and occasionally hit a skirmisher), rather than the richer, more important and densely packed heavy infantry line behind it. The point of archers (sorta) was to hide away somewhere and shoo...

Re: Various Comments
That is a good question. I think decadence might be a different concept.
What I do know is that, once you get past a certain point, the amount of money (especially), and manpower / iron becomes ridiculous.

Allies / Client armies in my territory
I would like to ask my client state NOT to send his armies wandering around my territory. Typically, it is just annoying, but now I find they are dominating my armourers and the like, sucking up the upgrades ahead of my troops. Really sneaky of them.

Re: Various Comments
I think administrative burden could be a good feature, but then it should be subject to investment by the player, so as to minimise it. It also needs to be folded into the UI, so the player can see the impact.
