Thank you so much Paul for your advices. If I understand well wargaming FOG solo is not so tough as it seems. I think that a clearer picture on the process would come form the Grant’s “programmed scenarios”, is that the book you referred to? I agree with you about the disadvantage but with a little ...

Terrains

I'm back again on the workbench to work on my FOG terrains. At the moment I've completed 2 open fields and 1 enclosed field. As you can see in the blog the materials I've used are very common and cheap. It's clear that the output cannot be compared to a professional one, but the funny was priceless!...

which gauls for my syracusan army?

dear all, I'm wondering how is the best gauls producer to join my syracusan army (made by essex and donnington).
I'm undecided between:
- donnington (it's great the possibility to choose one soldier of each type)
- corvus belli
- oldglory 15s
- ...

what do you suggest me?
thanks

I would recommend you to buy tents, like the ones sold by http://www.baueda.com , some camp followers, boxes, jars and some animals. They are really nice and you have several types to choose from. I wouldn't go for a temple, but if you want to have some religious practices you can depict a sacrific...

Single figure on cork is laudable but isn't conducive to fast work. Yes, but it has the great advantage you have to drink the wine first, and maintain a steady supply rate... ;) The supply rate might be steady, but I'm not so sure about the hand with the paint brush. However, I suppose by the end y...

hi luvdiscgolf, it seems that we have a similar approach to painting: not less than 6 month to paint an army....
as for the cork I use the wine bottle ones.
hope that picture could help you

I use a similar approach, but with only 8 miniature each time. I glue them on corks, I find it more comfortable to handle and turn.
Every time I finish a couple of base of cav for example I go on with a couple of LF bases, just to not be bored.

thank you for the picture Steve, it's rare to have one with village in.
Now I've only to prepare mine. Just found some interesting planimetry of ancient greek/sicilian farms.

one other doubt friends. How deal with "village" terrain? How are they going to be prepared? the houses that I want to put in must be removable to let BGs moving freely in or the BGs' movements should be blocked by the buildings? for the latter even if I choose the large piece it's difficult to imag...
