Re: Future DLC?

The devs have said that the game will run from the Bronze Age to around 1500. So yes, there will be more DLCs. My guess on the longer wait between DLCs right now is because, whether the next one goes forwards or backwards in time, many new 3d models are required.

I believe it is the same approximate scale, 60 square meters/tile.

Re: 2019 Tournament

Looks like we have had a mix up. I have posted new games for gribol and awesum4, pw snuggles.

So SnuggleBunnies and gribol's English vs Polish game can be ended, or played as a non tournament friendly skirmish

The same goes for SnuggleBunnies and awesum4's Thirty Years War game.

Re: Cataphracts : Rework Needed ?

That's because Warband vs Warband involves taking a -1 for losing vs shock, AND not getting the +1 for being heavy infantry. The raw hoplites only suffer from the former

Re: Cataphracts : Rework Needed ?

I don't think there's strong evidence that the shield wall was formed to counter what hadn't been working, or that it required more training. I'd say the shield wall was useful precisely because it required less training of its massed, often levied ranks. And no, the Pike Phalanx did NOT exist in th...

Re: Cataphracts : Rework Needed ?

What makes you think medium foot would be easier and less costly than a shieldwall? It seems to me that the shieldwall was retained in many cultures because it was one of the easiest ways to make poorly armored and trained men into effective fighters. The Parthians and Sarmatians aren’t popular beca...

English 1558

Re: Moving through a ZOC

Well... that still makes no sense. Why even have secondary ZoC then, if it can be ignored? It's a situation that can penalize a player for playing well. The unit has time to react in the preceding turns. It shouldn't get extra time/a rule exception.

Re: Moving through a ZOC

Yes, I understand that. What I don't understand is how that relates to a unit suddenly being able to ignore secondary ZoCs.

Re: Moving through a ZOC

The OP screenshot illustrates the problem succinctly. Why should the unit just be able to ignore the secondary ZoC? This leads to situations where it is actually better for your unit to be surrounded than facing one enemy to the front. That is absurd! The option to either be trapped, charge, or turn...

Re: 2019 Tournament

The final round has four players; Pantherboy, Snugglebunnies, awesum4 and Gribol. They will play a pair of battles against each of their three opponents. Rather than me choose the armies I will ask the others to nominate a pair of armies and then I will randomly assign the battles to each pair of o...

Re: Moving through a ZOC

The more I think about it, the more I gravitate toward the charge or trapped option. The coding, and the possibilities for exploitation, could be complex, but I do agree that the current situation is not desirable.

Re: Moving through a ZOC

I think a cohesion test to escape these situations seems reasonable. Or coding it so that the unit can either do nothing or charge the unit to its front
