Re: Kriegsmarine: Thank you

My guesses would be a Commonwealth campaign for #5 and 1942-45 campaigns for both Germany and the Western Allies for #8 and #9.

Re: Atlantic Diversion - sub hunt end trigger not working

Weird. I've completed this one twice but don't remember sinking any subs (certainly not four).

Re: Order of Battle: the new Import tool

The Grand Campaign was an improvised feature added after the fact to link the Morning Sun DLC to the original Rising Sun campaign. I believe the devs stated that allowing the importing of all Morning Sun core units with all their experience intact made the Rising Sun missions a cakewalk...likewise f...

Re: Kriegsmarine: Thank you

Despite some frustrations with a couple scenarios and the new naval mechanics, I also enjoyed the heck out of Kriegsmarine's campaign. I hope it continues to receive additional patches and polish, but the game is a lot of fun as released.

Re: What could come next in OOB

From the unit list, it definitely looks like a British Commonwealth themed campaign. I believe the developers even stated that they wanted to include an Australia-centered campaign with the original OoB: Pacific release, but ended up having to cut it. A presence of a lot of early war equipment seems...

Re: What could come next in OOB

I'm hoping the series gets back to its roots of including both sides of the battles and campaigns. I definitively would've liked to have been able to play as the Chinese in Morning Sun or as the Soviets in Winter War, or a Japanese defensive campaign based on scenarios from both US Marine Corps and ...

Re: What could come next in OOB

Hoping to see the Malaya and Burma campaigns from both the British and Japanese perspectives, with the alternate history being a Japanese advance into India. New supply mechanics ought to be introduced to do it right (what kinds of units & transports can retain supply and effectiveness via jungle an...

Re: Kriegsmarine: Operation Torch (defend the coast)

The only way I've found is to select Plan Z and Flugzeugtrager as your specializations and deploy two Stukas armed with bombs in place of the Condors (they have eight movement vs six). You don't need to purchase Graf Zeppelin, and probably won't have enough spare points for that anyway. If you take ...

Haha. Based on some of the screenshots I've seen, I think his actual last words were, "Build more Zeppelins."

Re: POTZBLITZ mod Update V3.4 (DEC 11th)

Stronger right wing when going Schlieffen: added one extra infantry at hex coordinates: 90,24. Schlieffen himself won't be included though since by that time he was a strategist/planner not an actual field commander and quite old. FYI, Schlieffen died on 4 January 1913 and had been retired since 19...

Re: The Road to Worldwide Conflagration: 1918-???? (random i

Interesting ideas. There was a mod announced a while back that was based on the historical Russian Civil War, but it apparently was abandoned. That would have been tricky given the hard-coded alliances, and Bolsheviks versus the world would have been closest to the mark (the Whites, Cossacks, nation...

Re: POTZBLITZ mod Update V3.4 (DEC 11th)

Both are interesting options, so I don't see why not so long as they're both low probability events (someone could always just restart the game if they don't like the events). The biggest problem with the Serbian one is that Vienna's ultimatum was intended to be one which Belgrade could never accept...

Re: POTZBLITZ mod Update V3.4 (DEC 11th)

Be wary of either weakening Austria-Hungary too much in order to duplicate its poor performance at the outset of the war, which was largely due to erratic decisions by Conrad. The few responses I got from players rather show that Russia has trouble breaking into Galicia at all. Really? I've usually...

Very true. Give Potzblitz a go if you're finding vanilla to be a walkover. If anything, you may be cursing the difficulty the first few times around.

Re: POTZBLITZ mod Update V3.4 (DEC 11th)

Looking forward to the new version! Haven't had much time to play 3.4 as I've been in the middle of moving, but two quick observations: IWANGOROD should be IVANGOROD to be consistent with the spellings of other Russian cities/fortresses IZMIR was still usually called SMYRNA (its Greek name) up until...

Re: POTZBLITZ: a mod for CTGW UPDATE V2.5

I don't think the "Race to the Sea" mechanic is necessary and would feel too forced. It's a legitimate strategy for the Germans to go for for the ports first and Paris second. Likewise, the Entente ought to be able to counterattack a German drive on Paris from the north.

Re: POTZBLITZ: a mod for CTGW UPDATE V2.5

It seems like so many things are being overhauled that we'll have to test the latest version to find out. Given that the AI has significant boosts to their stats and PPs it may be worth keeping the veterancy benefits a little higher (I think a 25% boost for trained soldiers vs green levies isn't unr...

Re: POTZBLITZ: a mod for CTGW UPDATE V2.5

What would be really interesting is if the nations with the most developed reservist systems (France and Germany) were able to produce new "Trained" units for a period of time so long as they don't lose too many of their starting units (basically representing the experienced cadre of officers and NC...

Re: POTZBLITZ: a mod for CTGW UPDATE V2.5

Great news all around. Hope you can get that experience system working, though I'd make the case that maybe the biggest jump should be between "green" and "trained" status. Vokt wrote:Would it possible to add those Russian Imperial Army unit names on the top of the counters?
I think you can custom name units if you're so inclined, but I doubt any more than that is feasible. Besides, the AI will probably send half of Russia's armies in Poland to the Caucuses anyway.
