I can see what the list is supposed to do, looks like it could work, though I like the LH to slow folks down and the 5" extra deployment is nice. Let me know how it fares. Might try somethng similar with Mongols sometime if it does indeed work.

I run 2x 4 Cv/Unprot/Sup/Dril/Bow/Sword instead of LH in my Mongol list, wonderful to take on enemy LH and at exactly the same POA against Knights as the armoured Cv.

Would you also suggest using this method to ship armies to buyers? I ask this as I am a figure painter and wish to bring my business online and try to expand my target market to other countries as well as RSA. Also is ebay a sensible place to sell painted armies off?

At the risk of being burne as a heretic I don't actually see much of a problem with someone doing that. It is historically valid (sort of) and well there is is nothing in the rules saying you cannot. If you know you are not a player who can win a competition then doing this ensures many draws and (i...

Ottomans from a different perspective

I created this Later Ottoman Turkish List for fluff reasons and for historical reasons. I enjoy playing with it and was just wondering how you guys think it would fare in an open competition. 1x CinC TC 2x Subs TC 1x Ally Gen TC 2 BG of 4x Timariots Cv, Arm, Sup, Undrilled, Bow, Sword 1 BG of 2x Qap...

The mix can be nice, but as everyone else has stated, in most terrain battles the mass will help. 8MF is seldom enough. I always use my 2x 8 Superior Bow Sword MF in terrain and that is often not even a guarentee of success, though they take a while to beat on but that is 2 Superior groups. Although...

Early Armies Any good?

Couple mates and I are deciding which list books we want to buy for starters , I love the later armies so Duty and Glory is one. Now we are deciding whether or not we should get the book with the Early armies (ie Condotta and French wars of Religion), are these Pike heavy armies any good in open tou...

Choice of Army

Not having bought the rule set or books yet I want to just check out the efficiency of differing sub periods before I invest in the related list book (Seeing as it is rather an investment for an impoverished student ;) ). Specifically the period of the enlightenment with specific focus on Brandenbur...

The main reason none are attending is the people who tried out for the team. 2 10th graders and one older wargamer who is , well lets say not the worlds best caretaker (for said kiddywinkles). No Team = No RSA players due to the legislation. If we travel to represent RSA unofficially we can in fact ...

In the end it is really a personal thing for me. Have played with both and have won with both. That said, I love Mongol history much more so it is always enjoyable to pack them up even after a right drubbing. But I have to say the Kn and Handdgunners make Ottoman a more viable tournament choice.
