So where are we?

I am noticing that a lot of the momentum behind this game seems to be waning... :/ From the 'Roadmap' thread, the Hotseat mode and some other fixes were supposed to hit last week but I didn't see anything. That in an of itself isn't a cause for alarm but there has been next to no activity or respons...

Re: HoN Problem and nonsense

FWIW, this is from the 'Roadmap' thread: Multiplayer (November) Hundreds of games have been played up to now in multiplayer. Most of them went smoothly, but we received a lot of feedback about problems that sometimes arise while playing online. Here’s the main list: 1. If the game expires, sometimes...

Re: ATTN markfeldman

I enjoyed BA too (not BA2 as much). But they are different games (HoN and BA). I prefer HoN's force construction (I like buying the base Platoon/Company tile and then adding options). I also think the heart of the HoN system is the Orders mechanic. You can't do everything you want to do each turn an...

Re: Why bother

I have played a couple of times with WalterO and all of a sudden the last game just quit. I'm still waiting for him to play his turn. From one of his posts it sounded like he was done playing the game (at least for now). I haven't seen a post from him since. I imagine he took his score/rank pretty ...

Re: Editor HoN

From the Steam 'Roadmap' post: Editor (End of November) The editor is coming! You’ll be able to create, play and share your own scenarios. Many of you particularly enjoyed the Skirmish mode because it allowed to play fast games while having a great degree of freedom in choosing maps and armies. We d...

Re: Heroes of Normandie Rogue Campaign Mode

I'm hoping that once the editor is released that we will be able to design link scenarios where forces carry over but I'm not sure if that is in the cards for the immediate future. But yeah, I've stopped playing the Rogue campaigns for the moment because it's been very frustrating having to go all t...

Re: Roadmap?

The roadmap has been posted on Steam. It's a bit slower than originally announced (it appears mostly due to unexpected issues taking up the early development time).

Re: More bugs

Hmm, from my reading of the rules, the shot on the Panther is correct (side armor). In order to be rear armor the Ami tank would have to be one square forward (based on that picture). "Heavy Vehicle Targets: When attacking a heavy vehicle, draw LoS through one edge of the vehicle (to the center of a...

I was using whatever was current on the date I posted that (I have Steam with auto-updates).

I believe it was 1.11 though.

Re: Version 1.11 question

Thanks for the info! And for the record, I would be all for a mode that allows the AI to play by the same rules the player does (ie including Veteran and Ammo if it has it). It seems like a handicap to the AI if those options are purchased for it's forces but it can't use them. That said, I would no...

Bug with MGs/equipment

Just wanted to report a quick issue I saw in a game last night... If an MG has too much equipment, the 'Set-up, Un-set-up' button disappears making it impossible to change the MG's mode (ie, you can't flip it). In game last night the MG was part of unit that had Grenades and Panzerfausts. During the...

Re: Game lock up

I occasionally have the scrolling 'lock up' so I can't move the map to place orders or resolve orders. This effectively 'locks' the game since I can't place on a unit that's outside the field of view (as a workaround for that situation 'auto' works, but is not ideal). I've also been unable to scroll...

Version 1.11 question

First, thanks for the patch/fixes. :) I'm guessing there are a lot more in the works from the reports and responses we've seen. For 1.11, just to clarify the difficulties: 'Major' (ie, 5 Star AI) is the exact thing we were playing before if we had Ironman Mode on correct? There are no other bonuses ...

Re: Can Halftracks carry infantry?

Like they do in the board game (yes this computer game made me pick up the base game, but it is so going the Warhammer 40k route of bleeding my dollars out of my pocket now). If so how can I do so? I tried dragging infantry onto the halftrack or sdfkz, but nothing happens. If we can't I think they ...

No 'Kill shots' in yet?

From the rulebook (unofficial rewrite): Kill Shots: Attack Roll = Defense x2! A kill shot is an attack roll that ties or exceeds a number equal to twice the target's defense (with all bonuses and penalties included). This immediately destroys the unit, even heavy vehicles or infantry with (flip symb...

Re: PAK 40 and other antitank gun?

Yep, can't wait till additional units and options become available. I hope they at least get the Army Boxes fully represented and then the 'generic' add-on like 'Extra US-GE units, US Alt Platoon, Weapon Platoon, SS Pzgr, etc.

Re: Live game

Yes, I'm hoping that live play will eventually make it's way into the game. I would like to see an option to play it as the board game is played in 'real time' with Op Fire and card play back and forth. I'm not seeing how the card play is going to work with the current 'PBEM' system without greatly ...

Re: Some snafus in the HoN UI

Bren in opportunity fire mode. LOS straight down the road. Next round SD KFZ halftrack casually crossed the road. No Opportunity fire triggered. I believe zakblood is correct. The Bren has a +2 vs Light Vehicles and is at long range (>7 spaces) for a -2. If the Halftrack has a 6 defense, that makes...

Re: Where Are The Card Decks?

Yep, I'm playing 'Ironman' consistently and really haven't seen the problem with the RNG. Do I occasionally get screwed by a miss? Of course, but that's dice for you. More often then not, the expected results are what happen with a few outliers here and there...again, exactly what I would expect fro...
