There' no other way :P Their main role is to suppress and damage supplies, not to make direct kills.

Except for sinking ships that is ;)

Re: Help, please: Hero stat-ups file location

Can you point me in the direction of a good save game editor, as the one I downloaded appears to not like my more recent files? It's 'PzCpsSE'. When I load more recent files it's filling in all the unit types on the left box,but not presenting my forces in the central box. There's no other save edi...

Re: Help, please: Hero stat-ups file location

This wasn't much of a problem before, as units would not level up often. However, with the current mod pack I note that the rate of hero awards seems to be greatly increased. I'm in 1942 and have several units with 3 heroes already. This means that my save-scumming has become routine and tedious. I...

Re: Help, please: Hero stat-ups file location

Yes, it's hardcoded. You can manually edit your saved game files and "fix" those heroes, but it's a bit tedious. It took me a while to decipher the location of this data. On the other, I don't care that much about random heroes anymore. It doesn't really affect your chance of winning or losing a sce...

Re: Top 10 things that I love about Panzer Corps

Number 1: The Community This could be the only thing to beat multiplayer in my book, and without this great community multiplayer would be no fun at all. So there could be nothing better for number 1 in my book. The great community includes the developers, the modders, the multiplayer community, an...

Re: Why did you still play in PzC ?

PzC is a perfected version of the tactical turn-based strategies having (relative) historical accuracy, fun gameplay (good balance between fun and realism), and RPG elements. I have been on a quest to discover similar games for some time now, and have recently found a free, open-source one - The Ba...

Re: What kind of units are useless in game ?

1. Recon units. 2. AA units. 3. S.Bombers 4. Developers team. 5. Noobs. I am not sure what the intention behind this post is ? Just a trolling effort of some kind ? So I won't comment on #4 but I can say so much right now If you really think Strat Bombers and AA are useless I have serious doubts ab...

Re: Why did you still play in PzC ?

I...but I love Panzer Corps for its combination of simplicity and addictivity ;) Are you sure about "simplicity" in PzC ? Im dont think so. Yes, there aren't many rules in this game. No need to worry about supply lines or morale of your troops for example. Some things are not 100% clear, like all t...

Re: Why did you still play in PzC ?

I agree with Nico. I was too young to properly enjoy the original Panzer General series but I love Panzer Corps for its combination of simplicity and addictivity ;) Plus all the modding opportunities the game gives you - there's just enough content to keep you hooked up up for many years, literally.

Re: Panzer Corps Gold Initial Video Review

I don't think playing individual scenarios first is the best way to experience the game.

You really should start with Grand Campaign DLC in '39 and just work your your way through the years.

Re: What value of Ground /Air Defense for Air units means?

I dont care why game designers choose specific values, i just want understand logic of choose. This sentence doesn't make sense. They chose specific value for a reason - in other words there's logic behind it. And how can it be a "hidden" feature where all those values can be read from the unit car...

Re: Glider Mod

Yup, it's been in the game for a long time. However it's up to a scenario designer to enable certain types of transport (plane/glider/rail/etc) in a given scenario. If you want to try a full scale glider operation you should definitely play Afrika Korps and its Caucasus scenario in the "alternative ...

Re: What value of Ground /Air Defense for Air units means?

It's the way the designers viewed it. And for game balance. Bi-plane hard to hit as it can move rapidly. Fighter m have more armor and speed, but has to travel more in a straight line. Sound good, but I cant understand game-designers views. Discussing why game designers chose specific values 5 year...

Re: Well at least the commute is easy (Grand Campaign Berlin

First try was General, now playing advanced settings player prestige 40% and exp 50% / AI prestige 150% and exp 100% / AI level 2 (comparable with Manstein / Guderian level? - dont know...) AI=2 is "General" level of difficulty. But to be honest, there's very little difference between AI=1 and AI=2.

Re: Hacking save files

Wow. Great info. Thanks. As to why I would want to do that? Just to adapt my formations to the changing theaters and complexion of the war as it progressed. Take a look at the history of the 19th Pz Div for example. Converted from an Inf Div to an Armored Div early in the war. This kind of thing wa...

Re: Hacking save files

Ok, it looks pretty easy. Obviously, you need a hex editor, end then: 1. Find the units name 2. Find the last character of the unit's name (the files use unicode encoding so each character is represented by two bytes!) 3. Count EIGHT (empty) bytes from place 4. Bingo. You've found the hex value of t...

Re: Hacking save files

I don't know why you would want to change unit type between scenarios and I don't think this is a "design oversight". But that is my opinion ;) I think it should be possible to do it anyway by changing unit id in the save file. I actually spent some time reverse-engineering the savegame files to be ...

Re: Eastern Front: Soviet Storm 1.8 (RELEASED)

I noticed the German 12HP bridge engineer on the Southern Bug river behind my lines on the turn three just north to Odessa. It's entrenched and hard to destroy. Is the placement of it is intentional via script? There is no way it could pass through my defenses unnoticed and entrench up to the level...
