Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

I think I have nearly all the lists in now. If all goes well I should have finished checking them and making the trophies some time today. If that happens then I will post the R&R. It is possible that I might need another player to offer to float into the FoG:R on Sunday. As thing stand FoG:R looks ...

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

Well Phil,

I can confirm that your list of runners and riders is not entirely incorrect even if we assume that you would be bound to get your own entry right ;)

I am still missing a few lists, if you are intending playing can you send me some lists folks.

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

Sadly there will not be a 25mm FoG:AM competition this year. Some of the players who wanted to play 25mm have had to drop out for family reasons and there just are not enough interested parties to make it work. Perhaps next year? Other than that the other four periods all seem to be viable on both d...

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

With just over a week to go, do we have any idea of: Numbers for Fog R. Is it viable on both days or just one? If it's just one day, which one and what's available on the other? Is a theme viable? If so, what is it? At the moment there are 6 FoG:R players for Saturday and 3 for Sunday. If that rema...

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

Not too long to go now, if you are intending playing and your name is not on the list in the first post please let me know ASAP.

We are light on 25mm FoG players :( if you want to or are willing to play 25mm please let me know.

Other than that I think things are reasonably under control.

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

not sure if there is to be a theme but I would if there was one like an early theme, Italian Wars types. Dave Once I have a better idea of who is interested I can check with potential players. I can probably field at least one and more likley two or even three Italian wars armies in 15mm that I wou...

What's the format/theme for fogr?

Dave
3 Games, 650 points, 5' by 3' table, 2 1/2 hours a game.

At the moment there is no theme but I am very happy for there to be a theme, it is really up to the players in the end.

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

The answer is: Hammy didn't think hard enough before he made the announcement. Actually Hammy rushed out the flyers that he handed out at a round of the Northern League and changed the table size for 25mm to 6 by 3 but forgot to remove the 40mm MU bit which has been the way things worked in previou...

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

Err, I have... I edited the first post earlier today. Because you are a moderator nobody can tell you have edited it James. FoG V1 or V2? I assume V2. I have been asked about V2 or V1 and at the moment I am not sure what is the best way to go. In some ways if there are enough players then giving pe...

Could those who are intending attending please let me know either in this thread or by e-mail. I will post a list of who has indicated they are attending.

N.B. after commments from some 25mm players I have changed the 25mm format to 650 points but on a 6' by 3' table.

Britcon Survey

Hi all.

We have put a questionnaire on the BHGS site looking for feedback on this year's event and opinions on future events.

If you can find 5 minutes to fill it out it would be of great assistance.

Cheers

Re: Mixed BGs, is it legal to have odd numbers of a type?

I was just curious.... It seemed to me that 5 shot made sense. You would get 4 dice of shooting until the BG has lost 4 bases which is not at all bad. The list checkers at the tournament I entered decided it was wrong even though there is nothing in the rules to prevent it so I figured I would ask t...

Re: Are bow too good or am I just useless

Difficulty coping with the FOGR POAs has not been a common complaint on this board. And if indeed it is all too much trouble for you, I am sure that there are other things you could be doing. FOGR isn't compulsory. I will keep trying for the moment. The difficulty with POAs thing came abo...

Re: Are bow too good or am I just useless

The Chinese army that has medium foot with light spear bow and regimental guns looks to be very very scary. 39 points for a unit of 6 with a regimental gun looks to be a very good buy. Iverson took these Qin and did VERY well with them. Mind you people attacked it acorss its front. And they shoud b...

Re: Are bow too good or am I just useless

That's a very simplistic way of looking at it. Firstly, if they move away, where are they moving? They are moving out of the rough ground. Isn't that what you wanted? Secondly, occasionally, you're going to do two hits on them, and they are then going to have to test at a -ve. If you've got other t...

Re: What are Reiters good for?

Having looked again at the shooting POAs I am a little surprised that shooty pistol is only at a single - against fully armoured foot. I thought the whole point of a lot of renaissance armour was to be pistol proof.. OK, fully armoured foot are probably very rare (I have never seen anyone use them) ...

Re: Are bow too good or am I just useless

BTW, can anyone tell me why warriors are worse off than medium foot against artillery? There is an implication earlier in this thread that that is the case but I honestly can't find a thing to say so. Do you mean Why or How? The How is that other BGs take a Cohesion Test if shooting inflicts 1 hit ...
