Re: To Forge an Empire 2.0

Radio (Early Persians - Plataea) 19/44 vs phlewis (Ipsos Alliance) 39/39. It was a gentlemanly affair with nothing as crude as camps being looted or officers killed occuring.

The map gave the persians a very good defensive position and they were able to beat off a determined successor attack.

Re: Why not SoG (Sea of Glory)?

The first punic war saw some naval action too. I would snap up this expansion in a heartbeat, although I suspect I'm in the minority.

Re: To Forge an Empire

I thought you could have overrun the Immortals on my left a couple of turns faster than you did (but were thwarted by some heroic dice rolling), which would have netted you a much quicker win and a better score.

Aristides wrote:My EAP (37/40) defeated Radio's EAP (43/41)
It was the EAP(Platea) version for both of us. Radio lost a Field Commander, Aristides camp was looted.

PS: Well played Aristides - I've never seen someone be so unlucky consistently and still pull off a win.

Re: To Forge an Empire

Note that you may only use Mercs when attacking, not when defending. (I asked Keyth this at some point in the forum since it wasn't clear to me.) So you should not be able to have a battle where both sides are using mercs. Chris I can't seem to find this discussion in this thread or the rules discu...

Battle Result

Radio (Ipsos Alliance) 15/39 against phlewis (Greco-Bactrian) 28/28. Radio Lost an Inspired Commander - dont think phlewis lost any. Both sides were using mercenaries.

A really lucky Javelin salvo disrupted 3 of phlewis 8 phalanxes on the same turn the two bodies of pikemen clashed.

Re: To Forge an Empire

Radio (Early Achamenid Persians (Darius)) 7/30 beat Grudgebringer (Classical Spartans) 34/32. Persian camp looted. No commanders killed.

One of those games that was over in the DAG as Grudge couldn't catch my lighter troops and was very slowly shot to pieces.

Re: To Forge an Empire

Tomorrow evening (GMT) I will be going away until next tuesday. If this causes undue hardship to the rest of the players timetables (ie: y'all are straining at the bit to get the next season started) I'll be happy to resign (with the points penalty) any games that are holding things up when I get ba...

Re: To Forge an Empire

It was Rholaxonai Sarmatians (eric) vs my Late Archamenid Persians (Radio)

In format I think it would be:

ericdoman1 (Rholaxonai Sarmatians) 9/44 beat Radio (Late Archamenid Persians) 40/30. Persian camp was looted.

Re: To Forge an Empire

'Munchkin' was perhaps a little unfair :) I'll check out the link now and try to sort it out. Mercs are selected at start-up and must be changed every winter season. Edit: Have changed spreadsheet to image so should work now. Thanks it works now. For my merc pick I think I'll go with Ipsos Alliance...

Re: To Forge an Empire

I'm bad enough to get away with a munchkin pick so I'll go asiatic please.

Also the second link just takes me to a windows live ID sign in? Is it supposed to do that?

Also Also when do we pick our mercs and do we ever get to change them?
