Re: Supply limit system is weirdly implemented and other feedback

AI petrify spam is wildly irritating and only one unit in my army can clear status effects. Why?

Supply limit system is weirdly implemented and other feedback

The supply limit system does not work well at all and is a downgrade from the Panzer Corps/Order of Battle model. I am currently at 35/34 supply because someone "stole" one unit of supply (btw, this should never happen). I can still deploy all 35 units and there is no penalty, it just wildly ticks m...

Re: Some thoughts about OoB

Recommendation: use only one or two heavy bombers. I only ever have 1 or 2 as they are expensive and [usually] you don’t need insane amounts. I, of course, am relatively inexperienced in OoB. I personally find 2 is enough, I also tend to bring a single tac bomber with precision strike as a last hit...

Re: Some thoughts about OoB

The devs are absolutely correct, the SS was not an elite formation and in fact performed worse than standard wehrmacht despite better equipment due to fanaticism and poor quality officers. This has been covered in numerous recent operational histories. Their chief (omnipresent, really) flaw was that...

Much more interested if it means we don't have to play as the fantasy vikings.

Re: What's with these OOB road runner targets?

Use a recon unit in the cavalry role to hunt down weakened enemy units and to supply the combat bonus from "mass attacks" aka when bordering an enemy unit with multiple own units prior to an attack. They can move multiple times and have long LOS so are relatively safe advancing through hostile or un...

Re: Stat adjustments - next round

I think nerfing the heavy AA is a questionable call. It has 1 move, meaning it cannot move any distance on its own. Therefore it requires a truck and costs +1 CP relative to the light AA, which is sufficiently foot mobile. It cannot chase enemy air due to extremely limited dismount mobility, especia...

Re: Stat adjustments - next round

Can you compare the command points on the Cromwell and Sherman in Burma campaign if you are adjusting stats? They have equivalent performance but the Sherman costs 1CP more.

Re: Gameplay advice sought for Coral Sea

You don't need ships for Tulagi. Send dive bombers and they will clean it up. Torps are not helpful here. Buy a second carrier and fill it with FTR, TB, DB. Do not underestimate dive bomber they clear screens and carriers and secure kills because they have precision strike trait which is amazing. To...

Hope this is still open, literally just applied. I could not be more hype for the campaign and, well, I suspect my name is recognizable from a certain private forum on this board lol.

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss

BTW, any chance you'll do more of the aces with unique bonus abilities? I loved the flexible movement Japanese ace and the British AOE bonus air ace (intended that he is AOE?). I'd also enjoy some more aoe ground commanders with unique abilities limited to particular unit types. A cavalry commander...

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss

Regarding the fighter/AA comments, AA are a good addition indeed, but I can also see objectives coming in future content that require ***fighters to be achieved....just sayin' ;) I mean the obvious retort is that you're tracking who kills what based on last hit, so I can 12/13 it with AA and then f...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

I'd personally start the opener as UK/FRA and go with Dyle Line (1), Sedan (2), Stonne (3) and then Dunkirk Evacuation (4) followed by Narvik (5) as a change of pace. Arras and De Gaulle's counterattack were both shambolic and pretty limited in scope so I'd personally fold them into the evacuation s...

Re: 'Tanks, more tanks, Tovarish!' - Red Star Review and Discuss

Just finished Yelnya in a little better shape than I had hoped for. End of deployment phase and I still have 429 RPeez (and 6 air CeePeez that I hope I don't have to use -- bought two interceptors based on the mission brief). Bought no aircraft and played with two mobile AA units. Only 2 tanks (T-3...

I'm not sure how you managed to pay for 2x high vet KV2 without being bankrupt. But I was. Twice. Somewhere mid-mission at Raseiniai and then again at Smolensk. So what? Doesn't mean that I have to resort to regular repairs then. Just wait a few turns and save the RPs until you can elite repa...

Re: OoB Western Allies GC sketch

I would add the ill-fated Norwegian campaign to the Darkest Hour. This could be a nice combination of air-land-naval battles involving British, Norwegian, French Polish and German forces. Regards from the Norwegian Thanks Erik I thought about it, but I'm not sure when to place it, because the event...

[...] do you click on the terrain hex type window to change it to unit traits every time you move a unit? I'll be damned. Thanks Bruce! I was looking for this since the beginning. And I've always wondered how they could've forgotten to put in the unit's trait info... turns out, they didn't.....

Re: Red star is so fun!

I so hope we get two branches, one for Mars and one for Uranus. It'd be really cool to have the option of going for an ahistorical victory in Mars or opting to play the historically successful Uranus instead. Agree though, it is an incredible campaign and easily my favorite. The sole thing I dislike...
