Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.1.0)

Thanks, Admiral3 and Colonel, glad you like it. To answer the question: Do you plan forthcoming upgrades or do you refresh sistematically the link at the first post? For the time being, I'm waiting for the RedSteel DLC/update to arrive to post my updated mod. It has gone through a major overhaul wit...

[...] and Gabe probably loves the railway gun. ;) Nah, although it was the very first version I've used, the model is quite sloppy. The Artistocrats made me REALLY happy by adding the "283mm Krupp K5" railways gun with Endsieg (Thanks again! :D ). But getting there is kind of complicated (and the o...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Germany West 41-43 (v2.1) 10Messina In this campaign, I'm in the habit of giving myself about 500-1000RP at every scen start by now, as I'm obviously not getting any from you. This is new, usually I never have to do that with your stuff. Not that much, not that often. And as a general suggestion, I ...

Re: Colmar Pocket Breakthrough Scenario

Some of the mines are core units. Core? Maybe assigned as German units, but core? Anyway I'll check it out. [...] Maybe add commanders? Especially for the Germans as the scenario is on the easy side. Mascarenhas said it was challenging, you said it was easy, Gabe said it was just right. Re mines: Y...

Do armored anti-tank units not get affected by other armored anti-tank units adjacent to them? Or, since the british unit seems to be an anti-tank jeep, do anti-tank units not protect other ones?
Quick answer: No, AT units do not support other AT units. Exception: "PAK Front" spec for the Germans.

RED COLOR: (the graphic 3D of the aircraft is NOT on top of the planes landing strip): Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder, I might fix this in my mod. This issue's been reported in the v6.1.8 thread already, BTW. Please also read the following post by the Admiral in that thread. The problem's not wit...

Re: The PzC 2 storm is finally here.

Fully agree with you here. It's about time that this "shameful cavalry animation" chapter's being closed in OoB... But Gabe, it is such a new bug, is it not? :| Tell me about it... the "cavalry pick up your rifles" bug...mentioned many times over the past years ... But - partly, to a degree ...

File is ready to play. Please provide feedback on enjoyability and any issues. Also, replays are very much appreciated, if you can find the time to save and send. Sorry, conboy, no replay from me, because I played with my mod, and you probably woudn't be able to reproduce the gameplay reasonably. B...

Re: Erik's campaigns

Erik, I hope my critique above wasn't too harsh, if so, I apologize. I know there's a fundamental difference in how we do things, similar to you and Bruce. I guess that's why you make such a good team. I, for example, need my products to be perfect *before* release. On the other hand it makes the pr...

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (WIP)

Finally fully implemented the Sherman Crab model. Using only a few sources, I came up with these stats: Available from 03/1944 with stats of the usual M4A models of that time, using the 75mm gun and some MGs. I've read that some armament had to be removed due to the mine removal equipment, so I redu...

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (WIP)

Rechecked and reworked many AT/AA units' effect sequences. I just hated the AA units using the same animation for air and ground combat. All those exploding FlaK shells didn't feel right in AT mode. I mean, they would change the shells to some AT/HE rounds, would they not? And as I created the Finni...

Re: Strafing units with BF109

This is because the BF109 has low ground attack stats, and is not specialized for it. Strafing with fighters is most useful (to me) for keeping low efficiency units at low efficiency Yeah, after you've accomplished air superiority, fighters are best used against weak enemy units like AT and arty an...

Re: The PzC 2 storm is finally here.

..... To be clear, when we have true and professional modder (like Erik for example), he is able to modify everything but I'm a mere mortal who has considerable historical knowledge but very little skills in modding, so I choose OoB, which - of course only up to a point - is very friendly for amate...
