Can you use Dominate Roman Eastern options as they must be contemporaries of the Western Empire?

Yes, Eastern Dom Rom is allowed

Re: Derby Teams 6th/ 7th October

All, looking like we could have 16 teams so another good showing. There might be a place or 2 for anyone still interested - to make up the numbers on a team or 2. Please post on here or PM me.

Re: What about the actual changes?

That's right, why let a little thing like historical accuracy get in the way of playing a good game. I vote to give the barbarians laser cannons just to even things up just a tad more. It wont matter as its only a game after all... That isn't what I said - I said that there has to be a chance for t...

Re: What about the actual changes?

Balderdash. In v 1 the romans are way better than their contemporaries. The Roman legions are refred to as woodchippers by barbarians who are made out of wood. I agree, and maybe for historical re-enactment this is right - as we all know unless they were surrounded the Romans did pretty much chop u...

Re: so are some staying with FOG 1.0?

But surely there's nothing to stop event organisers using V1 with those changes documented in JD's "press release"? While the vague/cryptic changes can be ignored (until the proper v2 becomes available) there's surely no (copyright) reason why organisers can't stipulate, "lads it's three dice for j...

Re: What about the actual changes?

IMHO the main problems with v1 were that skirmishers were too good and elephants & protected impact foot not good enough. it would have been easy to over-correct for this, but the changes made seen like a reasonable step & I'm sure have been suitably play-tested for balance (although I would still l...

Re: so are some staying with FOG 1.0?

Seems to me that sorting out what to play down the club is the easy part - but tournaments are not going to be able to move wholesale onto 2.0 until there is pretty much concensus. Shame as some of the changes in v2 look as though they will improve the game? Maybe we will end up with some of these c...

Someone asked me that at the weekend at Derby and I said I didn't think that the fact that troops were an ally needed to be disclosed until the generals were deployed. I wasn't sure so I made a judgement call. Concensus seems to be that maybe I called that wrong? If that's the worst mistake I made t...

Ally Generals in the Late Dynastic Egyptian Army List

Can someone please help with a lists query? In the Late Dynastic Egyptian list, there is an option for Greek Ally Generals, which can only command the Mercenary Greek hoplites allowed in the main list - so Ally generals are not compulsory - the greeks can be commanded by the Egyptian Generals So if ...
