Good 8) Having Offensive spears & the best archers in the British Isles to back up loony Knights & naff Spears is deffo a plus :) Just be warned that you don't get that many archers. Superior Pikes
Are superior pikes worth the extra point cost? I keep looking at Later Macedonians but wonder if the lack of frontage against contemporary opponents and their one dimensional nature makes them problematic, or at the very least difficult to use effectively.

Yes. If thats yes to Urartians that is superb news- I have a rather nice Urartian Army that was rarely used under DBM as it was such a complete turkey. It looks quite viable under FOG with good cavalry, light and heavy chariots, and lots of Protected MF in mixed BGs 1/2 light spear, swordsmen, 1/2 ...
