Re: Axis Minor Nations

I think it would be fun if on the Eastern front the Romanian or Hungarian Aux units involved during your battles were controlled by the AI. Would add an interesting dynamic to the game. As you would be forced to help or slow down your advance if they go too slow or stumble into trouble.

Re: New Poll Most Important Hero 1st/2nd/or 3rd

For caputred units, I'll upgrade them to a more modern tank if they have a decent hero. Otherwise I may end up selling them, depending on my situation.

Re: New Poll Most Important Hero 1st/2nd/or 3rd

I don't hero farm. I take what I get. Win some lose some. I do however sell off SE infantry. If you sell off a SE unit, how long until they gift you another one? Will you still have the same amount of SE units eventually? I believe it's 25% chance per scenario, and 50/50 if it will be infantry or t...

I don't disband, except for artillery. I don't need a +1 defense for artillery. Don't think initiative helps much either. Range is what I like.

Re: Favorite Artillery unit

Mt first play though I went sill and things bigger was better and went 21cm. The lack of ammo and ROF makes it unsuitable. 5 ammo, and I don't like having just one left unless I'm clearly on the attack. So reloading every three turns sucks. But one good aspect is that they're good at suppressing hea...

Re: Towed units should be able to fight in the next AI turn after moving by transports, under some conditions

I think they should stay in transport if attacked by artillery or by airplanes. They should have a penalty if attacked by ground units, a small on, that gets smaller as the unit gains XP

Re: Best Infantry Unit

Problem with paras is they lack equipment to drop with. Game makers should made light jeeps with weapons and light art that can be dropped by glider. Then you have much more usable force. As is, you need find good drop zone and hope nothing heavy where you plan to attack. I hope Devs will think abo...

Re: Do you savescum?

Haha yeah. I didn't u til I started the 43 east campaign. Played Kharkov ten times to beat it, and I played the first Kursk south battle a whole bunch. As I could win but my forces got beat up doing so. Too much so. As in 43 even at col level there's not much room for error due to low prestige payouts

Re: Stalingrad.

No doubt, esp since most of you play on harder settings, I'm on Col only. I think in urban scenarios, with limited usage of armor forces,I'd chose a tank over a TD to take to Stalingrad. That said, I do like the Stug, it's cheap and does it's job well. The Elefant is great too. But if the AI was sma...

Re: Stalingrad.

True but your normal core of tanks should be enough to deal with the limited Soviet armor. The tons of infantry I deployed kept me under the soft cap. TD don't hit infantry very hard. Armor mauls them out in the open. I liked to park my tanks and block the Soviet infantry from directly getting into ...

Re: Stalingrad.

Tank destroyers are pretty much unless on the attacking scenarios. Not many enemy, and TDs are bad at killing infantry. I'd rather have all my tanks, and use them to really hurt infantry in the open. Also, use as many slots as possibly for infantry and artillery

Re: Anyone using much anti-tank equipment in DLC 43?

What about the nashorn? Seems to have odd stats, low defense but more initiative. The Nashorn is meant to be a vulnerable yet effective stop gap in your at ranks...since it is open top the men who man it are vulnerable, but it's gun makes it have a higher initiative than other lower caliber guns An...

Re: Tips for "Storming Stalingrad"?

Add an infantry and an artillery unit to each Italian group. With that they can do some offensive actions. They also can absorb counter attacks. Don't let them die, as it's a big map to cover without your Italians. Use your tanks in the alleys and open spaces. You can outflank and cut off Soviet gro...

Re: Beginner Friendly Content

This is definitely an option as well. However, be aware that the AI behavior can change a bit as well with fog of war off as it now also “sees” more… That it does. But you get a feel for what the scenario wants. Also you're less likely to move units around where they can get jumped, like in...

Re: Beginner Friendly Content

Turn off fog of war. So much to learn and figure out at first. No need to worry about ambushes or aaa knocking out your planes.
I played the GC without fow til 42, really helped me figure out what works and without it making it too hard
