No, there is really someone who played a decision to instill some revolts coming from your slaves!
Thank you!

Meaning of message?

"All of a sudden region X is in unrest against you. We believe one of our neighbors is scheming against us, but which one" Is this something to take literally? Is there some mechanic in the game to create unrest in a rival's region. There is in Aggressors: Ancient Rome, but I was not aware of one he...

Re: First reactions

Yes the formula is that you need to win (or lose) by 3 clear head to head results for the pursuit stage to kick in and this side to be shown as victory. The draws would be because neither side managed this. In very small contests that is why the battle continues until one side is eliminated. Well.....

Mystery move

My army attacked an independent region with walls, defeating the enemy but leaving some of their troops alive. My general died in this battle. My army strength 80 sat in the province with the walled city and the enemy army of ~35. I ordered no move, with the intention of seiging. Next turn my army r...

Re: Venetii super high POW - how?

I have not yet played them, but noticed when considering factions for my game, that that was how the Venetii were described. Something about fortresses and the ability to escape by sea. So I imagine that they have some faction attribute to reflect this historical strength.

Re: First reactions

Point 1 Beorn is explained by the fact that losing the head to heads in the battles does not require the destruction of your unit just losing the fight 're losses. So you could easily lose the battle without having units eliminated. I think that there must be some fine print to this, however. I had...

First reactions

Having a great time with the game. Considering the time I spent viewing videos and reading sections of the manual, though, I sure had a lot of surprises from the rules: * A battle where only one of the six confrontations ended in the death of a unit (mine) but this was followed by pursuit and declar...

"Losing" wars

When I go to my nation panel, I see I am losing two wars. It is true that two fairly weak neighbors declared war on me, but the one battle I fought against the one was an easy slaughter. No one has so much as reduced one of my unit's effectiveness by a single point. The main thing restraining me is ...

Responding to raiding

The "client state" diplomacy option -- is this typically the result of a war? Such that if a neighbor is continuously raiding you, a legitimate solution is to defeat them and then set them up as a client state? Are there other methods of dealing with raiding, when you do not want to add the territor...

Re: Does the AI cheat?

Regarding the buildings, I don't think his point was so much that you lack choice in buildings. I think it is the lack of transparency in where buildings head you, a sort of tech tree where if you see that your goal is to accomplish X, you have an idea how to work towards X. But I don't take this cr...

Re: Does the AI cheat?

Also, 4.1 of the manual explains what sorts of advantages the AI gets above the easiest difficulty setting. Are these cheats? Whether AI advantages (or human disadvantages) are cheats is really in the eye of the beholder. Some of the game systems here are very complex, and I'll go out on a limb here...

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

I've watched a few videos, but for the most part they are playing it as a military game, basically asking "Who should I attack this turn?" I'd be curious if there is a video out there where the player pays a lot more attention to the other aspects of the game, and continues to do so into the mid-gam...

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

The more I have seen the Empires battle system since my original post then the more I like it to be honest and though others will differ I doubt I will be using FoG2 to play out many battles if any... I agree completely. Watching streamers, I very much like the Empires battle system, and feel that ...

Re: no Parthia ??

There are a couple of factions that appear by event - Parthia and the Galatians - roughly around their historical arrival time/place. Once they appear you can swap. In addition, a lot of nations will pop up as the starting states collapse, regions revolt etc. Again you can swap (in SP) to any as yo...

After watching various Let's Plays, particularly DasTactic's, I'd say the main "feature" the game needs is to be released. It looks very, very good. :D

Shipyards by conquered city

I notice that there is a shipyard next to a city I conquered, and it still belongs to the other nation. I cannot build anything there, and it shows with his flag in the lower right of the screen. 1) Can he still build ships there? 2) If so, where does the population come from to build those ships? 3...

"As mentioned, up to three units can be stationed on a tile at a time; this is known as the “stacking limit”, which can however be modified in the Game Editor. Note that this limit not only precludes another unit moving into such a tile but through it. In other words, the stacking limit blocks unit...

Re: Questions, questions...

6) I experienced this as well with playing in Top view. I'm not sure if the developer want and /or can do something about this in topview (extra disable mouse for zoom in topview button or so?) or you or dev have better idea. I don't know if you plan to delve much deeper in the game, but that list ...

Re: Questions, questions...

Thank you for the quick reply. I think you are the only game developer on the planet who would apologize for a 15 hour turnaround time. :) That is very interesting about the temporary two turn effect from changing government, and it makes sense. #6 - Cablenexus solved this one for me. I play with my...
