Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Morris is correct - let's leave this discussion between opposing players to work out. Morris and I reached a mutually agreeable conclusion. He had me on the ropes and I probably would have lost regardless asof the Italian situation. In this game I was purposefully trying to take out the Italians ear...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

I liked how you played til the bitter end and ultimately lost Omk for a total victory for me after wiping me out many times earlier. Even when it seems hopeless it takes a long time to really take someone out.

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

when I was a novice I playing on a mac there were few choices for opponents. I was playing one person who was really good and I played to the end several times. To the end for him meant total victory for either side so I ended up defending the US in 47 or 48 against hordes of Axis subs, carriers, et...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

One of the guys that taught me the game said there is no point continuing if you aren't enjoying it and I think Morris felt blindsided by a rule rather than a strategy. I respect his decision. We've started a new game with me as Axis. I've never beaten him and doubt I will this time either but he is...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Sorry for long delay in posting and skipping many turns. I've had flu for over a week and basically cut off one of my fingers doing some remodeling so typing is difficult - I tried to keep my various games going and let this slip - apologies. As illustrated I should have listened to posters. Althoug...

Re: We need to fix this in 2.2: transports of iron!

I was just surprised when my 4 step Free French BB (red) took on an unescorted troop transport and suffered 1 step damage and nothing to transport.

doesn't the answer depend upon luck in research results and thus can't predict exact date?

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

May 28, 1942 - start. I may have overreached on the Eastern Front but Morris doesn't have that much offensive power anymore and is facing threats on more fronts. I feel Morris is stretched too thin in the south so I'm going to continue being aggressive despite everyone's comments. http://i1205.photo...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

May 8 1942 - Sorry I don't have much time for discussion due to work comittments. Morris looks like he is going all out for Moscow this summer. It may be reckless of me but instead of going on defense I took out another Arm and Mech but other damage. Like a dirty shirt the Brits are back in Sicily (...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Feb 17, 1942 In the North we move to surround the Finnish Corp moving south. http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb435/schno005/Morris%20vs%20Schnurri/Feb1742N.jpg In the South we have been fairly active - retake Kursk plus destroy a German (injured) and ally Corps and destroy a German Corps around ...

Re: Morris vs Joe Rock

Morris - you should show us your defences in Germany so we don't have to keep guessing til Joe gets there. We are envisioning a double line of Mechs.

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Jan. 28/1942 -In the North we try to force a corps to retreat but are refused. On the southern front our forces are depleted but this turn the Luftwaffe doesn't fly (oil?). Around Rostov we clear out a Minor Ally Corps and leave the space for the German corps to retreat forward next turn. Around Kur...

Why do you transport Tacs instead of flying them over? Save PP's and time by flying.

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Here are casualties at beginning of turn. Heavy Russian losses but hopefully have dented armor. Key was holding Rostov. Morris advanced too quickly with depleted armored units that were hit and then got bad weather. He has managed to keep me losing units through the bad weather. http://i1205.photobu...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Jan. 8, 1942 - Turn Start - in the Med the battle for Sardinia is over and Morris sends some Germans back to the mainland for the Spring offensive. Around Moscow he attacks a Corps where he can get 3 attacks. In the south he holds positions in the Rostov pocket. I hope I can clear this out and force...

Nov. 29, 1942 - Turn Begin - In the Med Sardinia keeps going down - a landing feint brings out the remaining Italian BB which we hope to sink. http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb435/schno005/Morris%20vs%20Schnurri/Dec1941MS.jpg On the Eastern Front Morris reshuffles the line in the North and cont...

Re: Can we save the Bear, Richardsd vs Morris (no Morris ple

Yikes - looks very bleak for the Axis. My guess is when you arrive in Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc. there will be a double defensive line in the mountainous terraine. But with the Allies pressing in the west it may not matter. I've been experimenting with the Morris Russia first strategy and it's rea...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Nov. 29/41 Med Theatre Morris slips more reinforcements into Sardinia, dooming that little adventure - how does he evade my sub? Anyway, put another sub around the port but it is probably too late. Start http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb435/schno005/Morris%20vs%20Schnurri/Nov29MB.jpg End of tur...

Re: Morris (Axis) vs. Schnurri (Allies)

Remember he got a late start due to bad luck with weather and then when I counterattacked he realized going forward wasn't going to gain much. He did succeed in wiping out my carefully preserved Mechs so the winter offensive will be less of a factor. Maybe all the fighting in Sicily also helped a li...
