2019 SJ campaign or tournament

I noticed a number of games launched on the multiplayer screen. To all those SJ players, perhaps new folk who wisely bought this excellent game in the sales, we are having a discussion in the tournament threads about a new event this year. Our approach is to be informal and friendly so that the game...

For our Portuguese excursion, we will stick with the 1494 English.
If TGM selects his defender then I will post the challenge.
I think you mean O'Dilly Alan...
Oh, right, sorry, I am easily confused. Sorry O'D but looking forward to playing you again.

Re: 2019 Tournaments

Awesum4's 2018 tournament is approaching the last round. I don't know if he plans a repeat later in the year. In the meantime, you could try joining Gdod's very nice campaign, which like a tournament gives interesting battles but is a bit less competitive in spirit. It would be nice if you joined, a...

Re: War for Europe and the Near East Campaign

Spies of the Mad Hatter of Morocco have heard that Lord ahuyton, Lord Protector and King of Every Angle is sending all his knightes and all his gunnes and all his shippes to reclaim his seaside holiday resort in the countrye of Portugal. He advises the time is ripe to claim Merry old England for th...

Re: Favorite Army

Very hard question. Personally I like an ECW Royalist army with cavaliers, but they can be difficult against all the parliamentarian shot. In the 30YW period, I would go with the early Protestants, but not because they are any good (they may be, I cannot tell) but they have a certain romantic appeal...

2018 tournament ending thoughts about the next

We are just about all done, with one game to wrap up. That one looks like a victory for Kiwiwarlord over LFDLM and we will arbitrate in the next days unless I hear from Cedric. I hope that all players enjoyed our little tournament. Thanks to everyone who took part. The novelty was playing in teams a...

Re: War for Europe and the Near East Campaign

With regret, we hear of the seizure of our most Gracious Majesty's holyday villa on the Algarve by banditos representing the Portuguese usurper. Let it be heard that my Majestic King is very very cross about this and he is sending all his knightes and all his gunnes and all his shippes to reclaim th...

Re: 2018 Tournament

Just completed my last game of the round, losing to TGM by 44-70, so

TGM - 8 points
ahuyton - 4 points

I think, but correct me if it is wrong

Re: SJ Tournament 2018 - Round 3 Seikigahara

Thanks, Brian. I am tempted to call your game a draw in the interests of wrapping up the tournament, but do not want to spoil the fun... let us see where both are on 31 December and decide then. In retrospect, I should have better tested the scenario, which, while interesting, has proven to be probl...

Thanks Andre, that is very helpful. I had noticed that they get badly mauled by shooting, now I just have to remember and take the appropriate action.

So there is just one game left

kiwiwarlord v LFDLM

Brian and Cedric, any chance you guys can finish soon? Then we can wrap this up, fete the winners (Brian and co) and console the losers (which include myself)

Re: SJ Tournament 2018 - Round 3 Seikigahara

My game with TGM came to a close with the mass seppuku of my samurai and the shameful rout of my untrustworthy peasants. It was an epic slaughter, and I conceded when I realised that I could not meet the (rather odd) victory conditions. Once the reinforcements joined my side I could only win by infl...

Re: 2018 Tournament

Results suddenly in from my games with Dilly, where in both games respective keils get smashed up. Dilly (Italian) won against ahuyton (French) - 50-20, so 9 points to 2 ahuyton (Catholic) wn against Dilly (Huguenot) - 41-13, so 8 points to 1 Result - a pleasantly egalitarian 10 points each. I managed to defeat TGM's French with my Italians, 54-29, so I think ahuyton - 8 points The GrayMouser - 2 points A tale of my massed keils overcoming TGM's better quality troops, while his cleverly placed artillery blew away my gendarmes. I don't mind. Alan Thanks Alan, challenge amended below. No,you need to use extra nations v3. Ah sorry. In which...
