Re: Sengoku Jidai tournament 2018 format and teams

It sounds desperately close. Conclusion is that Snuggles won if I understand well.

Hmm, looks as if team Brian continues towards glory

Ahuyton your scouts are ineffectual or colour blind. I will accept your challenge on behalf of Spain, what do you intend to use? Or do I get the choice due to poor scouting? :)
Splendid! We will send our 1645-1648 Royalists to engage the army of your choice. Do you want to set up the game?

Gavin, as Kiwiwarlord already has a challenge, we will shift ours to Spain.

Re: Indicative poll concerning a marginal victory rule

Hope this doesn't end up like Brexit. It is getting more and more like Brexit although I am not at all comfortable being cast in the role of Theresa May. But I do have to say that my deal is the only deal and if it is not supported then there will be "no deal". Edit: there may be a "ne...

Re: War for Europe and the Near East Campaign

Admiral Prince Rupert is organising a cruise to Constantinople. Among the proposed entertainments for the royal party is a little bataille in the delightful Turkish countryside with our good friend, the infidel Sultan. We will bring the picknick and request the Sultan to provide his famous bellydanc...

Re: War for Europe and the Near East Campaign

A nice report, Gavin. My agents in the English Court report that their army chivalrously manufactured a defeat to prop up the Scottish King McAwesum and to avoid having to move the Court to the grey wet wastelands of Edinburgh. We are heading south next round.

Re: From Maurya to Alaric: winners post your results here

Division B

ahuyton (Franks 496-599AD) won against iandavidsmith (Visigoths 419-621AD): 61-44

A close game where it looked for a long time as if Ian's lancers would win the day, but in the end my infantry held up well and scraped home with a lucky victory in the last turn.

Re: The Rally Point (discussion and questions)

As the opponent in this excellent game, my perspective is as follows. - Nyczar's army choice was better than mine. I took too many average lancers and lancer-armed light horse, which were hopeless against his arab medium foot, - Nyczar won through steady but firmly aggressive play, - At the end as I...

Re: SJ Tournament 2018 - Round 3 Seikigahara

I have not heard from LFDLM as yet, how are the other Round 3 games going ? Just wondering if we should give my game with LFDLM away as it will hold things up, if it ever gets started that is ? I have been playing it as a skirmish game for practise, well it is a really good competition game with th...

I know my verbose literary style isn't to everyone's liking but it adds interest for me to add a little humour and backstory. It makes a point of difference from the 'matter of fact' tournaments.
I like it! And it means that we don't have to take anything too seriously, which is very pleasant.

Re: War for Europe and the Near East Campaign

I hesitate, Gavin, to add to the interrogation...but... I think Scotland is still Scottish. Alas. Because my invasion failed, as did McAndre's Border reiver incursion into England.

Enjoying the campaign though!

Re: From Maurya to Alaric: winners post your results here

Division B ahuyton (Chinese Jin 317-420 AD) won against Ulysisgrunt (Sixteen Kingdoms 304-439 AD): 66-45 I thought that the enemy lancers would sweep away my medium foot and even said so in chat. Many turns later, my numbers and the helpful terrain had come to my rescue in a very tough game for both...

Thanks!
Hi Ernst I would be happy to play. Do you want to set up a game?
